A "OK" hotel. Nothing immpressive.Posted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: It has a indoor swimming pool and a sauna. The room was specious.
Cons: The valet parking attendants could be better trained for professional manners. They could get rid of the bad air freshener smell.
The carpets throughout the hotel are pungent with air freshener - it gives a downmarket impression. The size of the room was good, but it's not a "corner" king room as described. A corner room supposed to have windows on two sides. One cleaning person was pleasant and friendly when I asked for extra towels. Another cleaning person opened the door while my husband I were still in the room, with the "Privacy" sign outside the door, 15 minutes before the checkout time. The valet parking attendants could be better trained. The interaction with them was awkward as they seemed to be expecting a tip every time. With $52/day parking fees, this shouldn't be the case.

Large but convenient hotelPosted Oct 2, 2015
Pros: Easy walking distance to nearest Metro. Staff, concierge desk were helpful. Rooms were nice. Old Town Trolley stopped at hotel in AM.
Cons: A strange way of exiting the hotel. When leaving the room you take elevator down to lobby and then take an escalator up to street level.
Location: Convenient to Metro, trains, tours, etc. Easy walking distance to Capital. Not much for restaurants or stores nearby.
A large hotel, it is a short walk to Union Station and the Capital. Unfortunately there is nothing else close by like stores, restaurants, etc. The staff and the concierge desk was attentive and helpful. Rooms were clean.

Wonderful location and staff!Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: The location, the staff, the facilities.
Cons: More drinking glasses in the rooms.
Location: This hotel is centrally located and so it is easy to get around. The many things to do in Washington DC are either an easy walk, or a reasonable cab
This hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed in. The staff was fantastic. From the minute we walked in the door until we checked out they were all at our service and all with a smile on their face! We could not have been better taken care of.

Nice hotel in a not so nice areaPosted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Very clean and spacious room.
Cons: No minibar
Location: The hotel is close to decent areas, but it's surrounded by shelters and homeless health centers.
The hotel is pleasant, clean, busy, well apportioned. The problem for me is that it's surrounded by a unpleasant neighborhood. The area has many homeless people and so I did not feel safe walking to nearby areas that had more entertainment and restaurant options.

Good hotel near the Capitol mallPosted Sep 26, 2015
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from union station which is ideal for all transport links into and around Washington. The location is great for the mall as the Capitol building is literally around the corner. The room we had was spacious and well appointed and very clean and the hotel has everything you could need in the way of amenities, pool, wifi, ATM and business centre. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was very good and a couple of drinks in the open plan bar area. A tip for anyone wanting to visit all the monuments on the mall is to get a 'Smarttrip' card from the station. They work like the London oyster cards, in that you can preload them and use them on the Metro and buses, once you have one you can then use the circulator buses. The circulator bus goes from union station and stops at every point around the mall, it will only cost you $1 per stop so you can use it like a hop on hop off tour bus for much less money. As well as the hotel restaurant we ate at the Dubliner pub near the station, good pub style food with live music on most nights. Visit the library of Congress as well as the original declaration of independence the interactive sections are very interesting and great fun.
