Awesome staff, great pool, average rooms

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Staff, Price and near to Union Station
Cons: Add Fridge, Microwave; make sure bathroom thoroughly cleaned
Location: Union Station (lots of tours there) and take Metro, Marc and Amtrak Near Capitol Hill, Library of Congress, etc.
The staff were very accommodating. Arrived early (around 9 in the morning), requested if we could leave our bags so we could see the city earlier but the staff offered to check us in. It has never happened to us before. Rooms were okay in size, but we noticed that a pink pill was on the corner floor of the bathroom. We never bothered to report it since we would be out in the city most of the day. No breakfast but there is a West Wing Cafe across where awesome sandwiches can be bought. No fridges and microwave as well. So we have to buy our water from cafes all over DC. We didn't use the pool but we went up the rooftop and it looks enticing. If you would want a basic room, and you will be mostly out during your stay, this is a good hotel to stay. Pros: Near (2 blocks) Union Station where you can take Metro, Amtrak or Marc; convenience store upfront; accommodating staff Cons: Average rooms; bathroom not thoroughly cleaned (leftover pink pill); no fridge or microwave

Short but Sweet

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: (See above)
Cons: More seating at pool. FREE WIFI
Location: It was a block from my daughter's school and within walking distance to everything needed.
We were moving my daughter to DC for school and decided to make a family vacation out of it. The hotel is beautiful and the added amenity of a roof top swimming pool made it a truly well rounded summer vacation.

great location

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Cons: The rooftop bar was closed for a private event and we were told it would reopen at 9. It did not reopen.
We were able to walk to an event at The Capital Visitor Center.

Decent hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Hotel was decent with a good location. However the pool was gross. Chunks of hair, visible grease floating on the top of the water, other unidentified "clumps" floating throughout the pool and the water was very cloudy with who knows what. The bar next to the pool was also committing highway robbery. $22 for two cans of corona. Otherwise everything was fine. Not great not terrible. Just fine.

Excellent hotel except for the food at the pool. $50 for a snack that was probably worth $10.

Great Capitol Hill hotel

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: The location and attention to environment.
Cons: I asked for a room far from elevators but was very close to the them. Lack of noise-dampening features; I could hear all above and beside me.
I enjoyed my experience at this hotel, although for the rates, I think the hotel should not charge a fee to wifi. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. I appreciate the energy efficient features for lighting (sensor in bathroom, LCD bulbs in many of the fixtures).

The location is fantastic and the hotel was good. There is something a bit boutique about the hotel with darker decor and a kind of odd photo series but we would recommend and would stay again.
