Not clean. Staff tried to accomadate me for the lack of cleanliness, by moving my room, and dry cleaning my clothes, but the next morning my dry cleaning was not ready when they said it would be.

Excellent for easy access

Posted Apr 21, 2017
Spent three days treating my grandson and daughter in law to Washington DC. This hotel is perfect for access to the Mall, Capitol, and other attractions. The staff is helpful and the room was pristine.

Walking distance to the Capitol Building

Posted Apr 19, 2017
Pros: Location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms
Cons: Fridge in the room
Location: Capitol Hill, Union Station, National Mall
They allowed us to check in early, and check out late, which was very much appreciated. The staff was fantastic - friendly, professional, and courteous. The room - clean, with a huge bathroom and comfortable bed. No in-room fridge was a bit of a disappointment, but not worth causing a stink about. The Capitol Building is a leisurly 10 minute walk away, which is great. Union Station is about the same distance, as well, which gives you access to the Red metro line, that will connect you to the rest of the city in a few stops. Overall, the Liaison is a wonderfully situated hotel, and well worth the price.

Great ambiance

Room was cozy & clean. Restaurant was fabulous & great service! Would have loved to enjoy sidewalk dining but nothing was set up. Also disappointing that the whole roof top is closed until the pool is open.

Hotel is close to Capitol,

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: I liked the proximity to the main sight seeing venues.
Cons: Room service choices as well as the food in general could be much better.
Location: The location is close to the mall and other points of interest.
Centrally located for D.C. Sight seeing. However, right next to the fire station which means sirens on a regular basis. The hotel does have room service which is great when getting children up in the morning. However, there is no table in the room.

Way overpriced and poor service but central.

Posted Mar 29, 2017
Pros: Close to Capitol Hill, botanical gardens, museums, very walkable. Rooms are good size, not boutique.
Cons: Service. People. Please. The price warrants that.
Location: Close to Capitol Hill, botanical gardens, museums, very walkable.
My first impression was walking in and having to wait in line for 15 minutes to check in. Once I get up to the counter, the phone rang and without saying anything to me, the attendant answered it and proceeded to help the customer on the phone change a reservation (which took several minutes) after I had waited 15 minutes. Meanwhile, people that were in line behind me were being serviced at the counter which was frustrating. Once we finally got up to the room, the key didn't work so we had to go back down and sort that out. Paid over $400 for the room and everyone still seemed to want a tip for everything which was a bit irritating but maybe that's just DC. My boyfriend forgot pomade/hair gel. When we called the front counter to get some (mouse, hairspray, anything), they referred us to the gift shop of the neighboring hotel. That was pretty lame- Holiday Inn Express can do better than that. The location is great and close to the capitol building. Not safe at night outside. When I was leaving, in broad daylight, there was a businessman downstairs that had a bloody nose because he was randomly attacked on the street. So I guess the location is a trade off and that's part of the city experience. We have a 4 runner and it wouldn't fit in the garage which is only 5'10". Parking garage was full so had to pay valet anyway which was about $46 each time. And yep you guessed it, they still wanted a tip.

Close to Union Station

Posted Mar 28, 2017
One block from Union Station. Walking distance to Capitol Hill and surrounding sites. Hotel itself is boutique however during our visit it was crowded. The lobby cannot handle more than a handful of people. The hotel is located next to a fire station which is a negative especially at night if your room is street facing.

Great location. Comfy room.

We loved our stay at Liaison. Only criticism is the $22/day mandatory charge for what other hotels do for free....coffee in room, newspaper (never received one), bottled water (had to request it), and wifi. You can charge for wifi but the other stuff?? Come on...at least make it optional. Having said that the staff was great, we just felt a little gouged with the mandatory extra charge. Location was excellent for sightseeing and cab access.
