Nice hotel!

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Central location.
Cons: If the room is has 3 guests, PLEASE provide service for 3 (towels, glasses), preferably without being asked (and asked again the following day)
Very quiet, clean rooms. Very helpful staff. My only concern (and its a mild niggle) was that the room was clearly booked for 3 guests, but the towels/glasses etc were provided for 2. While the hotel rushed to get us extra glasses when asked, it would have been nice if they also provided extra glasses the following day instead of room service removing them. Same for towels. Parking was expensive (as always in central DC) - I thought parking was included in my room rate, but at check-out I had to pay for another day. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel.

Lovely hotel in heart of DC

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Location: About 3/4 mile from White House and about 1.5 miles the Mall. There's a Metro Stop (Farragut North) that is a few blocks away--about a 10 minute walk.
The Loews Madison is a lovely hotel that's conveniently located --about a mile from White House, memorials, The Mall, etc. The neighborhood is walkable with restaurants and Metro stop nearby. The decor is elegant without being stuffy--and the staff were attentive without being pretentious or intrusive. Room was quiet and had down comforters and plump soft pillows. The luxury level far exceeded the price--a great value.

Good location and hotel, but awkward staff.

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: The location and the decor. Vintage and Classy. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good.
Cons: Staff needs to be more professional.
Location: Fairly close to the monuments.
The location was good. The staff seemed a little rude and unprepared. The day of the check out, before the checkout time, they started knocking on the doors and asking if we used anything from the bar... I mean, their check in time for the next guests is 4PM. They could've waited till people left the room. According to me, that was highly rude and unprofessional. The check in was a little time consuming because their system was a little messed up. Make sure you know that the difference between the Luxury Room and the regular room isn't much. I paid extra, but didn't see that much of a difference. The beds weren't plush like usually most hotels have.

Loews Madison, Not Such a Capitol Idea

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: It was generally ok.
Cons: If you are going to bill yourself as a boutique hotel then upgrade your beds, bedding and towels.
Location: There was a varied selection of restaurants on 14st, the next block over otherwise it was a long walk to the Mall and the museums.
On check-in we were told that the premium room we had booked with Expedia was unavailable and we were downgraded to a room located on the inside facing what they called the courtyard. The courtyard was just a fancy name for their mechanical room and the noise from the air conditioners was very loud, combined with the noise from the air conditioner in the room made it almost impossible to sleep. The room itself was ok but if they bill themselves as a boutique hotel they need to google the definition of this. The beds were, to my mind, substandard and hard, no pillow tops here. The bed linens were worn and had seen better days definitely not the fluffiness one would expect. The towels in the bathroom were very thin and the size of a handkerchief. Overall very disappointing, we did move into a premium room after the second night but the air conditioner was still very loud. On check-out we had to remind them that they did comp us $150 for the inconvenience of having no premium room available but we felt awful having to ask.

ok location

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Location: Fairly close to Metro, but not much around to shop etc.
I was disappointed in the mattress quality and bedding. It was hard, uncomfortable, and sheets were rough. Air conditioning had to be on very cold so room didn't smell musty. Could not use business area computers to print boarding passes unless you swiped a credit card.

Great Location

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Location: Close enough to walk to most sites.
Great location for visiting Washington, had a leak in the shower but it was fixed within an hour, Concierge was excellent in recommending restaurants. Minibar is electronic so don't take anything out and put back in or you will be charged! Got a refund! Had a staff problem so our rooms were not made up next day. Overall it was a good hotel and I would stay again.

Great Place to Stay

Posted Aug 24, 2015
I spent one night here with my nieces and sister for our annual trip to DC. We had a nice time at the hotel. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathroom products smelled lovely. The staff offered a couple of nice recommendations for dinner. My nieces were given a DC Kids activity book, which was nice for them. There were several restaurants within walking distance. I would have liked to try the restaurant in the hotel, Rural Society, but it wasn't the right choice for my nieces. We had no issues with the hotel.

The air condition is too noisy. The room is too small and it does not worth the cost
