Staff was great, the room was ok, sort of smelly, it was supposed to be a non smoking room but smell like cigarette smoke in there, maybe from the rooms on the side, bathroom was too small in my opinion, but I guess you get what you pay for... the price was right... relatively close to a metro station (about 2.5 miles)

Motel has seen better years

Posted Mar 15, 2017
Pros: Decent location. Relatively clean rooms.
Cons: More attention paid to the comings and goings of raucous lodgers?
Location: College Park is near DC.
The Red Roof Inn in College Park was a little more beat up than other reviews indicated. The room was clean and staff were nice, though apparently ineffective. The biggest problem was the other renters, who were extremely loud, mindless, and inconsiderate of any other lodgers. I was woken up at least twice each night at 2, 3 or 4 in the morning by loud revelry, yelling, door slamming, and, in one instance, a car revving its engines for ten minutes outside my window before taking off with squealing tired and roaring engine. Where the hell was the staff to deal with any of this?

Cheap for a reason

Posted Nov 15, 2016 on Hotels
Our first "non-smoking" room had clearly been a smoking room. The toilet had fresh ashes flicked into it and the toilet seat was soaked with pi**. Front desk was not answering the phone. Finally able to change rooms but had to buy our own air freshener and cleaning products as the next room was only slightly better. One day we did not receive fresh towels or cleaning of any kind. Had to call front desk for towels and was told they only had one. Every night there were loud parties or loud guests next to us. First night it was 4am before quiet. 2nd night was 2am.

Very upset! Terrible stay!!!!! Never again!

Posted Nov 2, 2016
Location: Not close to anything except a lot of traffic.
The staff cannot or will not control guest in other rooms. These other guest were very loud and the smell of pot seemed to just seep into our room from a door between rooms. This continued until well past 2 am. the front desk was called a number of times yet nothing happened. A lot of good sleep for my wife and I was lost that night.

Room clean and comfortable but walls paper thin so loud. Checked in at 8:30 and was told my room was given away despite charging my cc. Room was found by manager but they gave me a smoking room without telling us. Key catds erased the next day so had to walk back to lobby to get new ones. Easy to get to from highway, close to university. Breakfast ok but did not refill itemslike yoghurts for long time. Dont book unless big price difference from nearby hotels

NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY - friendly staff, though

Posted Oct 17, 2016 on Hotels
The staff was VERY friendly and professional. The hotel was horrible and people were screaming all night and yelling profanity. We were there to visit our son in college and it was fine - we had a great weekend and the horrible ness of the hotel did not ruin our weekend. We just know we will NEVER stay there again. We will find another hotel for the next time :) This hotel is not cheap either yet it is very rundown. We even think we saw some "working ladies" check in. and smelled POT everywhere.
