Beautiful Historic Hotel

Pros: The location and the breakfast.
Cons: Put some sort of heat source in the bathroom.
Location: The hotel is on Embassy Row so you view the different embassies. The Washington National Cathedral is up the street.
This historic hotel is located on Embassy Row in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. It is about a two-minute walk from the Metro and the bus. I was staying there because I was attending a ceremony at the Washington National Cathedral which was just a few bus stops away. There are restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but the hotel also has a very nice dining room. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The only thing was that there was no heat source in the bathroom so it was quite chilly in there. Also, it takes a long time for the water to get hot, so if you just jump in the shower and let the water run on you, you would be in for a rude awakening. Other than that, the room was very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

While I enjoyed my trip immensely and liked the hotel, there are two issues with the hotel that need to be dealt with. First, a daily fee for Internet? Really! Second, the pipes make horrible noises when people flush their toilets or take showers. That definitely needs to get fixed.

Excellent area and a historic hotel

Overall, it was an amazing stat once we changed rooms. The hotel is very well maintained albeit a bit 'historic', and the room quality varies according to location. Most definitely recommended, but try to get a room in which the bathroom does NOT have a window. Everything else is what you would expect from a fine hotel. Also, the area is magnificent.
