Wonderful staff in convenient neighborhood

Posted May 15, 2017
Pros: Front desk staff
Cons: Some parts of the rooms need to be updated. Duvet cover ripped.
Location: Smithsonian Museum on African American Culture and History. Short Metro stop away. Be sure to get tickets months in advance.
The front desk staff was stellar in every way, esp Maki. They would even come out from behind the desk and assist us with our questions. We felt comfortable and at ease to start our magnificent vacation visiting and exploring the Smithsonian museums.

Nice hotel, within a couple of blocks to the Metro

Posted May 15, 2017
Location: Georgetown is within walking distance with great restaurants. You might catch the US VP's motorcade from his home at the US Naval Observatory.
The staff was outstanding and the hotel was very clean throughout. The only downside is that the bathroom was quite small.

Nice hotel at good location, some staff awful.

Posted May 10, 2017
Pros: Clean and well-maintained hotel. Very nice and helpful staff at reception.
Cons: Bartenders (there was an older gentleman and a blond lady) should be trained better. Rude and unfortunately possibly bordeline racist.
Location: Location is close to metro (Dupont circle), and although no great restaurants/bars in walking distance, in 10 minutes you can be in the heart of DC.
I had an efficient check-in. Being an Expedia VIP member, I was given free breakfast and drink coupons. I wish I wasn't given them because everything about the hotel is nice, except the bar (very rude bartenders), and to a small extent the breakfast (limited in choice, plastic cutlery (which doesn't fit in a classy, "historic" hotel)).

Uncomfortable beds

Posted May 10, 2017
It was underwhelming for a "luxury" hotel experience. The carpet was dirty, bathroom outdated. I booked 2 rooms because I was on a trip with my parents and family. They could not accommodate our rooms on the same floor. We were on complete opposite areas of the hotel. The worst part was the beds. The mattress is so hard it felt like laying on the floor. I woke up at 1 am and couldn't sleep anymore it was just so uncomfortable, even after switching to the other bed. My husband woke up with a sore back for days. Both my parents also had the same issues with their beds. The view-non existent. We looked at a brick wall and dumpsters. Another complaint I have is the outrageous valet fee. $53 per night! The pros for this hotel are the excellent location and the lovely staff but the rooms and beds are not worth the price you pay.

Good location

Posted May 9, 2017
Pros: Location, staff and the room was very comfortable
Cons: The furniture was a little shabby and stained.
Location: The Metro was only a short walk from the hotel. Actually, there were many things that were totally within walking distance. Good restaurants near by.
We loved staying at this hotel. The staff was great, the room was really comfortable. The only thing that I noticed was that some of the furniture was a little worn and stained, but nothing that was unacceptable.

Nice hotel, very clean

Posted May 8, 2017
I liked the hotel, very clean and friendly staff. The bar tender was very nice and took time to have small talk while being attentive to the rest of the guests. Was disappointed that the hotel was so far away from attractions and that parking was $45 a night. I would recommend not getting a car and use a cab or uber if you can

Cozy room in quiet neighborhood close to metro

Posted May 6, 2017
It's a small hotel with class and courteous and helpful staff. My only complaint was the tiny bathroom and design of shower. It was difficult to avoid getting water all over the floor.

Decent but dated hotel in great location

Posted May 6, 2017
Very accommodating staff. Hotel is a block away from the hub bub of DuPont circle. Easy walk to shops, embassies, restaurants and metro train and bus. Hot water was out one day, which is no small inconvenience unless you really don't mind cold showers. Buffet Breakfast Is not worth the $19. Some minor improvements to the rooms would make a big difference.

Thank you for taking the time to highlight our staff’s great hospitality. We would like to apologize for the day without hot water, and know that this unlikely occurrence has been corrected. We hope you will give our property another chance to welcome you back.

Good mid range hotel.

Posted May 5, 2017
Pros: Generally clean and well maintained. Quiet room. No smoking. Friendly staff.
Cons: Need some outside space, a terrace of some sort where you can relax over a drink or two in afternoon sun. The breakfast room needed more staff on duty
Location: Good location for George Town area. Metro sort walk away. Good local cafes.
Spent 5 nights there. Friendly staff, although the maid service was a bit haphazard. Some days no shower gel and on others only one clean bath towel left for two people, Had to ask reception to sort out. Several packets of tea and coffee in the rack but only one pack of creamer, also bottles of water some days and not others. The room and bed was clean and comfortable although a second chair would have been useful. Plenty of draw and hanging space for clothes, plus room safe. No outside space or terrace. The location was good for George Town and Pontiac river but some way from the main city area, but the metro is fast and cheap.
