Great location! Fabulous staff!Posted Nov 14, 2015
Location is ideal for walking & metro! Hotel is beautiful & staff is superb...it was like coming "home" each time we returned to the hotel. Restaurant was lovely & service level definitely "fine dining". "Off the Record", the lower level hotel bar, can be oppressively hot & crowded, but we did enjoy the dark atmosphere on one evening of our stay when it wasn't too crowded. The hotel lacks a lobby or lounge spaces that invite you to curl up with a book or hang out with friends, but we will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time on our weekend get-away to DC. The Hay-Adams hotel is great - friendly, attentive staff. Luxurious room. Great location - just steps away from the White House.

Wonderful!!Posted Oct 19, 2015
Pros: Absolutely everything!!
Cons: Perhaps only a kettle & tea-cups in the room for a cup of tea when you have got back from a long day sight-seeing..
Location: The location is superb, right across the park from the White House, walking distance to National Mall and the many Memorials.
From the moment my taxi pulled into the driveway to the moment 8 days later my taxi pulled away my stay at the Hay- Adams was simply divine! The staff are above excellence with their courtesy, professionalism and efficiency. The Hotel is beautifully appointed and in a fantastic location. My room was lovely and the maid service (both morning and night) was wonderful, so very efficient. It was a marvellous 8 days and I can't wait to go back again.

Fine dining, fine service, fine linens and comfortPosted Oct 15, 2015
Pros: Food and staff.
Cons: Very nice Germanic head of evening dining room should be careful perhaps about correcting other staff in front of diners.
Location: A block from the White House, a block from the subway; in the very midst of D.C.
Walking into The Hay-Adams, your door is opened, and graciousness abounds. The staff is cordial, caring, helpful. The decor places one in the midst of history. Perfect D.C. location, with underground about a block away and cabs abounding. Fabulous food whether spoiling yourself with room service or dining in the fine dining room, or downstairs bar area. Quaint, yet careful attention to detail made the stay stress-free. Would recommend this small historical hotel to anyone who values quality and fine taste.

Elegance and style personifiedPosted Oct 10, 2015
Pros: Everything. The staff is superb and the furnishing tasteful and elegant.
Cons: The hotel should remain just the way it is.
Location: Centrally located near the White House.
The Hay-Adams never disappoints. The staff is always ready to cater to your every whim, and the hotel is elegant, warm and friendly. It is almost impossible not to meet and make new friends at the basement bar, where the highest level of Washington clientele and out-of town visitors regularly meet and relax. The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of Lafayette Park and within walking distance of the White House and many attractions, such as the Smithsonian museums. You will leave at the end of your stay feeling pampered and appreciated, looking forward to your next visit.

Tired and NoisyPosted Oct 9, 2015
I was offered an "upgrade' to a room that had no actual bed, just a pull out couch! And the 2nd floor room I was given was small, dark and so noisy both sleep and a nap proved impossible.

Can't wait to go back!Posted Sep 20, 2015
I was so sad to only be able to stay for one night what an elegant, special hotel. I would stay there even if it were not across the street from the White House! Don't miss the bar in the basement. Very cool!

Fantastic Hotel!!Posted Sep 15, 2015
My husband and I recently stayed at the Hay-Adams for 3 nights. We were pleasantly surprised by the close proximity to the White house and the central location to all the other tourist sites in the DC area. The hotel was magnificent. Staff were exceptional in everything from reception, door-men, Concierge and also the restaurant. Our room was brilliant! Large, with two double beds, large size bathroom and plenty of storage. Definitely recommend this hotel to others - you cannot go wrong here!
