Comfortable Hotel near Dupont Circle

Posted Feb 9, 2017
Normandy Hotel was a pleasant surprise, well hidden near Dupont Circle. The street was quiet but also close to many cafes and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. Though I did not participate, the wine and cheese offer in the afternoons was a sweet touch. The room was a bit small but clean and comfortable enough for one person. For two people it may be a little tight. I enjoyed my stay in Normandy at Washington DC. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nice small hotel conveniently located

Posted Jan 18, 2017
Pros: Location, funkiness, and staff
Cons: Nada
Location: Location is near DuPont Circle, Adams Morgan, U Street and Woodley Park. If you like to walk, the red line metro is about 10 minutes away (maybe 15)
Hotel reminds one of small independent hotels in Europe. It is not new but if funky in a really nice way and the staff are great. Small rooms but quiet with everything one would want. Wine hour downstairs and nice breakfast at reasonable cost. Convenient location to Woodley Park and Adams Morgan and a short stroll down Conn Ave to Dupont Circle. Close access to restaurants, nightlife, attractions, shopping and if one likes to walk, about 10 minutes to the nearest metro. Having lived in Washington I did not realize this little gem is tucked in so close.

Nice hotel, close to Zoo & DuPont.

Posted Jan 17, 2017
Pros: Location & friendly, small scale character.
Cons: Visibility from the street is not easy as it is adjacent to a residential neighborhood with lots of on-street parking.
Location: National zoo, DuPont Circle, Embassy Row, Connecticut Ave, etc. Too many things to count.
Convenient check in, excellent staff, clean & comfortable room.

Wonderful personel, one of the best hotel

Posted Jan 17, 2017
Excellent all the way around. Parking cost $80 for 2 nights, a little steep, but had the option of parking on the street. Great hotel, plan to go back, and just make a greater effort to park on the street.

A great option

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: bathroom was great, bed was comfortable, staff was amazing
Cons: room could have been a little cleaner and some of the older furniture replaced or just taken out
Location: good italian and french restaurants nearby. Bookstore/bar down the block was open super late. Great neighborhood to explore
This is not the fanciest of hotels but the staff is friendly and very helpful. The kingsize bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the shower was awesome. Wine and cheese from 5-6 makes the whole experience even better. Good location - next to restaurants and shops and within 20-30 min walking distance of other cool neighborhoods.

The people were excellent. The hotel clean and comfortable. They are clearly trying to do their best. The building itself, the carpets, the hallways and elevator are all in need of refurbishing. Best looking and most updated room was my bathroom. It was small but very nicely updated. $12 seemed a lot for what they were calling "Breakfast". Perhaps by DC standards that price is about right. But where I come from $12 will get you eggs how you like 'em, bacon, toast, a good cup of coffee and a tall glass of juice. Of course, this is just one of the reasons I live here and not there.
