My new go-to when in Waukegan

Posted Dec 2, 2016
Didn't know what to expect, but this place seems like almost new construction and everything is clean and comfortable. There is a Starbucks themed/branded (not a Starbucks "location", though there is a drive-through location in the parking lot if you must have a skim-double-whipped-frap-a-chino) cafe in the lobby area which had a surprisingly delightful breakfast offering, which included perfectly fresh fruit out of season, no small feat even for vastly more expensive lodgings. This cafe turns into a wine/cocktail cafe from 5-10 in the evenings, but we didn't partake. There are a number of decent restaurants within walking distance in addition to a Walmart (whose rear faces the hotel so the busyness of the parking lot is concealed). This would be a perfect location for business travelers that would like to stretch their legs a bit after sitting in meetings all day.

Perfect for USN boot camp graduation

Posted Nov 12, 2016
Pros: Staff, overall--nice job GM! Amenities, cleanliness, location.
Cons: I can't think of a thing.
Location: Well centered in Waukegan. Convenient to shopping and dining.
This hotel is an excellent choice for those attending PIR (graduation) from USN boot camp. About 12 minutes drive from the base. Hotel staff very in-tune with USN families, I would go so far to say that it is their mission. In saying so, everyone and everything is about supporting and providing for those visitors. The room's cleanliness is on par with 5-star resorts, the desk staff extremely knowledgeable about the area, transportation, sightseeing, etc.; they double as impromptu concierges. The amenities include a bistro-style restaurant with full bar (Dan makes a mean double crown), gym, indoor pool, and guest shuttle for short-distance visits. There's a 'bux right next door for you coffee snobs. Decent dining & shopping nearby, with a couple of neat towns within 15 minutes.

1st time at Courtyard

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Pros: It was clean, friendly. It had a open, welcome feel about it.
Cons: The television was in an awkward place, no big deal. Some kind of youth hockey thing was going on so a lot of kids were there making noise but they were respectful. No real complaints.
Location: Very close to shopping and restaurants, and it was just down the road from Genese Theater. Convenient location.

I went down with my brother to watch my girlfriend graduate the navy and the rooms were very nice. When we checked in they asked us if we would need transportation to the navy base and that they have a shuttle just for that.
