“Location worked well for us. Small room with en-suite. Out the back for a country pub. Ample parking nearby. Room not great at keeping noise out - could hear footsteps overhead from residents upstairs and voices carried across the count yard late at night. As it was warm needed to windows open so more easily disturbed by noise. The bed was super creaky too, which was annoying and disturbing in the dead of night! “Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”

“This hotel is not worth the money. The toilet seat was hanging off. The shower door was broken the toilet brush and holder were all rusty. In the morning we waited an hour for our breakfast people that arrived in the restaurant after us got there breakfast before us when we checked with staff they said ours was coming after an hours wait we left the restaurant and checked out with no breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel”

“The Village Inn was the perfect place for a stopover while travelling further south. Ideally located a short distance from Northallerton. Large car park, restaurant with a really good menu choice and very reasonably priced. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with heating you can control yourself. Powerful shower and very hot water. Breakfast was great, with choices of full English, Vegan, cereals etc. I would highly recommend the Village Inn to everybody looking for somewhere to stay……

“I think the hotel is pretty,i like the rustic feel and furniture of the lounge/restaurant area. However the bedroom and bathroom can do with a modern , colourful,light and airy renovation.
