No frills with good location

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: location. cleanliness
Cons: Very bare.
The room was minimalistic but clean and quiet. We arrived late but the staff were careful to make arrangements for us. If you are after a no frills hotel room at a decent price in a good location then this is a good choice.

Pros: The hotel was easy to find. The hotel had parking. The hotel was close to the city centre. The hotel was within budget.
Door to lift didn't open automatically when arriving at floor. Toilet roll holder was loose and didn't hold the roll securely. Toilet flushing button was in an awkward position, making flushing difficult. Room was cold and the heater controls were not easy to work out. Compendium was not complete.

ok place

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Reasonable price
Cons: Clean up road frontage, looks very disappointing from the outside, gardens need weeding desperately.
Location: A little bit far from where we wanted to be.
Parking a bit dodgy, high risk of getting your car dinged in the close quarters, taxi had trouble getting in and out when car park full. Ok room, quite small for 3 people. Tiny bathroom.

Dated but fine

Posted May 22, 2016 on Hotels
A dated hotel and a dated room but it was a good price which included parking, and we could walk down Cuba st and into town within 10 mins. The room was a little dirty around the edges but generally ok. The shower was powerful. It wasn't too noisy, inside or out. The bed was pretty comfy.

Convenient

Road noise very audible. Perhaps double glazing would help. But good location

Good location, economical family unit

Posted May 1, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: Needs new carpet and kitchen joinery.
Location: Just a couple of hundred metres from the top of Cuba St, and only 5 minutes walk from the national war memorial. Very handy to the motorway
The location near the top of Cuba St was good, and we had plenty of room in our family size unit. However the motel was very tired and smelled peculiar, and the carpet was worn and dirty. All the taps needed new washers (or to be replaced) and the shower curtain was too small (no choice but to either have a big puddle on the floor or all over the vanity. Unwelcoming.
