Looks fine but nothing works very well.

Pros: Very clean and modern
Cons: Maintenance on appliances
The room looked like all Novotel's (clean and crisp), but the tv remote only worked when I actually stood at the tv and the aircon buttons didn't work, so it was freezing (who sets the aircon default to 20 degrees in autumn in Wellington?) To be fair, I didn't complain and give them the chance to fix it, but it would be nice if things would just work when you pay to stay somewhere.

Nice hotel next to everything

Bathroom a little cramped, no lock on the door, and beds were very soft - perhaps too soft as we all woke with sore backs. The staff were great and the hotel was very clean

Wonderful time at thee Novotel

Pros: The location, the staff, the comfort and the cleanliness.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Wonderful access to Lampton Quey. Close to a local supermarket, shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Great location, comfort and staff. Nothing was a problem, thank-you!

Nice hotel, great location

Easy to get to the main shopping area of Wellington via a lift, central for all public transport, 1/2 hour walk to Te Papa, national war memorial, and 2 mins to cable car. Complimentary breakfast good. Staff very obliging. Room was small for 4 of us but we did not spend much time in hotel other than sleeping, overall I would recommend

Disappointing for the cost

Pros: Nice view of the harbor
Cons: Guest laundry, WiFi speed
Location: On side of a very steep hill, ground floor is 9 stories above Lambton Quay, but elevator makes this a minor nuisance. Close to harbor and restaurants.
No guest laundry, and no laundromat within walking distance. $10 for a clean shirt via the hotel. Hotel restaurant breakfast was awful, brown water for coffee (unless you order a $4.50 espresso), and limited buffet. Fortunately there are a number of good places nearby (the Americano was great with cook to order fresh food.) The hotel is on the steep side of the hill, so you have to take two elevators to get down to nearby restraunts and Lambron Quay. On the plus side, the room failed to annoy: high shower head, great view (facing harbour, but there were rooms facing the other way), comfy beds, and enough plugs. Computer video input for TV, and free (if modest speed) WiFi if you join their loyalty club for free on check-in. Close to the harbor and 10 min from Te Papa, but Cuba St is a 15 minute walk. Virtually next door to the cable car. Next time I'll stay closer to the harbor and verify laundry facilities.
