Great hotel. Awesome staff, bar, pool, sauna and overall environment. Elevator seemed a bit shaky as we got stuck in it multiple times and had to press the floor button a couple of times to get it to let us out. The only real complaint was that the pillows were really too soft (I know right) but it was like there was nothing to support my head while sleeping so they were way to soft with no support. Woke up feeling like I had whiplash because of the lack of support. Minor complaint I suppose. Overall great stay and would recommend.

Highly, highly recommend
Fantastic place and amazing service. Friendly, worked with us as foreigners in their country for the first time, and bent over backwards taking care of us. Highly recommend it. Also, LOVE the lady that cleaned our room and took care of us…like a loving mother.

Very nice hotel in a great location with easy access to Celle. We stayed Monday night, a bit unfortunate, as their supposedly very good restaurant is closed Mondays. At arrival we were given an “upgrade” though it seemed more was a “downgrade” from the room type we had booked. Very strange. But quickly fixed. Otherwise all good and friendly service.

The loveliest hotel in Celle!
Arrived early evening having only just placed my booking 20 mins earlier! Was greeted by very friendly and helpful receptionist who carried all my bags to my room in old part of hotel. The room was beautiful and comfortable with very lovely furnishings and it had a nice creaky floor! The receptionist put the heating on which instantly started working and there was underfloor heating in the bathroom. Bed and bedding was very clean and comfortable and the room was so quiet. I ate in the their Italian restaurant and the menu offered interesting options and the meal was exceptional. After a sound nights restful sleep I enjoyed an incredible breakfast in palatial surroundings - there was even champagne on offer! The staff at this hotel couldn’t have been more helpful and if I ever pass this way again I would certainly try and book this hotel.

Lovely Hotel , but getting a little dated, Good Staff and Service Breakfast is continental style don't expect a full English, and it is not cheap Order food for evening meal well in advance as restaurant is popular with locals All round a nice place to stay I would stay again, but if you want value for money look else ware

The hotel is beautiful. The main floor is gorgeous . Old style architecture wrapped around aa very nice bar. Plenty of comfortable chairs. The breakfast was very good but a little pricey. My room was in the old part of the hotel. Small pretty room with fairly low ceilings. I felt like I had to duck my head all the time. The biggest complaint was there was no AC. I had a fan in my room. The last 2 nights I was there I had the window open and the fan on. it was still a sticky, uncomfortable nights sleep. Not what I would expect from a fancy hotel. If you book someone there, check to make sure the room has AC.

Our double rooms in the Refugium are rooms, that are loved very much by most of our guests, because they are in the historic Palais and because they have a cosiness, that is very much appreciate most of the time. Unfortunately due to the hot temperatures, it may get warm in those rooms, which I am really sorry for. But I am also happy to inform you, that there will be air conditioning soon. I am really sorry, that you were so diappointed, but hopefully you will give us the chance another time in a room and that has clima control to show you, that we can do better and make your stay as comfortabel as we wish it for all of our guests. Very nice hotel . Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms . Unfortunately we stayed during the summer heat wave and it was very warm in the building due to no aircon. Staff did their best though providing floor fans and ice for drinks.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Superior rooms have no air conditioning so was somewhat uncomfortable in warm weather. Excellent location.

Nice Hotel
Nice hotel but was surprised no air conditioning in the room of a 5 star hotel. Weather very hot and staff managed to provide a fan on the second day. All other facilities and breakfast was excellent.

Nice 5 star hotel
We stayed here for one night. The staff spoke very good English and was very friendly and always willing to assist with any needs. The hotel is just a few minute walk to the castle and city center. They offer great outdoor sitting, to enjoy snacks, dinner and drinks. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the great hospitality.

No air con!
Check in was very quick Staff approachable and supportive Room was cosy to the rear of the building as we were only staying two night and we were told they were full we knew we had no choice Bathroom exceptionally clean stocked But found used slippers under bed clearly not inspected properly No air con!!! In either the bedroom or bathroom (mirrors remained steamed When in use we were told that air con in the bathroom was on NO it wasn’t not . and it was very very hot both day and night. Breakfast good choice available mainly cold meats/ fish etc Garden to the rare of the building not tidy at all looks clean but could do with a freshen up during the day

Great Hotel close to Celle town centre and its att
Pleasant reception, nice size, well equipped rooms with all mod cons except hot drink making equipment and supplies, but there are facilities in the bar area. There is a nice size pool which has to be said was cold. Breakfast is the best.

luxury close to town
Spacious, well appointed room with a comfortable bed. A quiet room as it was in behind the reception/lounge area. Very clean and toiletries etc supplied every day. The bed was turned down while we were having dinner, a new experience for us! Close to the interesting old town and castle. I'm glad that the hotel had a special rate at the time or we would have missed this bit of luxury on our European holiday.

I was over in Celle for business, the hotel was first class and of a very high standard.

Would I stay there again - In A Heartbeat, Yes.
Lets not get too bogged down with the "is this really a 5 star hotel" debate, I've stayed in newer, far more up to date, far more luxurious hotels boasting 5 stars and some not so modern or comfortable. We arrived in the early evening having driven from the airport to find that the outside carpark was full requiring us to park up on the street outside. Sorry but I'm not going to pay somewhere in the region of 15 Euro per night just to park my hire car in the hotel garage. Be Aware - there are parking restrictions on the main street - Read the signs. For me the mature trees and grassed area around the patio to the front of the hotel set the scene, walking in through the front door makes a further impression, something traditional, something special. Old, comfortable and welcoming. Check in was simple and efficient, room upgrade offered and accepted due to very reasonable rate. The room wasn't the biggest I've ever stayed in but spotlessly clean and well equipped. ( My only criticism - No coffee machine ). Large flatscreen TV allows programs to be view in 'English' which helped with Game of Thrones :-) Lots of facilities / services offered by the hotel but as we on a sightseeing trip we didn't really have the time to take advantage of these or the two first class restaurants unfortunately. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the service provided by the staff was first class and the diningroom is typically German high standard. Its only about a 5 minute walk into town - Enjoy

Lovely hotel in a pleasant town near Hannover.
The hotel was lovely. The attention to detail was excellent. Lovely setting and nice on site restaurant. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices and nice quality food. The pool and steam room facilities looked well kept but I didn't have time to use them. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel!
This hotel is located 1/2 mile from the Celle train station. Do yourself a favor and d/l the Deutsche Bahn ap for train info and ticket purchases. The staff with no exception was courteous and helpful. They speak excellent English, so American travelers are made to feel welcome. The rooms are modern and clean. I will definitely be back next year!

Nice but not the best
Nice hotel not five star service but rooms and service good, breakfast service disappointing though, had to ask to coffee, dishes not cleared away - not what you expect from a hotel of this standard. Pool was freezing cold so didnt use, sauna area good though. Bar prices very high

Nice quiet hotel very close to the town centre
This visit was to attend the Celle Christmas Market and Celle itself as we lived there during the 80's. The Hotel was lovely, the staff were very helpful and overall we had a great time. We would definitely visit again and the Althof Hotel Fürstenhof comes highly recommended.

Best in Celle
The best things here are service and management. Wi-fi is stable just in several places. Noisy if people are living in naboring rooms. A historical building with lobby, bar and restaurant is charming.

Good service and very nice bar-, lounge- and restaurant- facilities; unfortunately the gourmet restaurant is open on weekends only leaving a less pleasant restaurant available only.

Prompt and Friendly Service
After a warm welcome at the Hotel by the friendly receptionist, we made our way to our room to which we approved of...Unfortunately we had a problem with a blocked toilet. We were very pleased how the staff dealt with this..as we were immediately given another room (upgraded). Breakfast every morning was absolutely lovely...the staff could not do enough for us. We used most of the facilities in the hotel, including the swimming pool. My husband and I will definitely book again in the future.
