Nice historic hotel
Convenient to both the train station and the town. Our initially assigned room had an unpleasant smell (not mold) but they were very accommodating in moving us to another room, which was odor free and fine. Rooms are large, but could stand a little updating of style. Staff very friendly and helpful, including Philip at the bar, the front desk staff, and breakfast service. We even received a traditional little gift at our door the morning of “St. Nick’s Day”.

The location of this hotel is excellent. Many nice restaurants, grocery stores, and bakeries in walking distance. Very close to the central market area. It is a five-minute walk from the train station. The staff is kind and accommodating. The hotel is very clean. The only thing is the room (one person room) is very small.

This is a comfortable traditional hotel with a good restaurant, very centrally located, I enjoyed my stay but my bedroom was due for some refurbishment.

I had booked a "superior double room" but since the elevator to that room on the third floor was off, and we could not carry our hand luggage or walk an entire floor, I had to switch to a less comfortable room, without a desk for example… Of course, I paid for the better room, which I did not get. Otherwise everything else was okay.

Good Location
Good location 5 mins walk from the station and 5 mins walk to the centre. Rooms are very nice and the wifi is good. The breakfast is a little limited choice but okay.

Breakfast is very disappointing. Beds are rather used up. Needed a zero-balance receipt for business travel - took a lot of arguing. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The best romantisches hotel in Germany.
Our stay of three nights and two days was wonderful and memorable, our favorite of our luxurious hotels of our three week stay in Germany. I would recommend this hotel with enthusiasm. It was beautiful, clean, very well located blocks from the city center and one block from the train station with an adjacent, free parking lot. The staff was attentive and the special touches ( a fresh, long-stemmed rose in a vase next to the mirror and fresh flowers throughout the premises) were well appreciated. We loved it!

Nice hotel. Will stay again there for sure. Nice breakfast, clean rooms, very close to train station. Excellent service. A few suggestions: in Summer air-conditioning will definitely be needed. The lack of it is definitely a problem. Also mattress was a bit firm for my taste. The use of old type of locks with traditional keys is a bit inconvenient compared to modern card locks.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Was happy to discover the convenience of an elevator. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I was able to sleep well. Opportunity for improvements: The decor seemed a bit outdated; the shower in my room (#123) leaked.

Nice place, tad pricey
Classy Hotel convenient to public transport. Short, easy walk from Bahnhof. Nice amenities and facilities, no AC tho. Can see that being an issue especially if you have to open your windows on the street side which can be a bit noisy. Price to me was a tad high when compared to other options.

Great for a couple's city trip in Gottingen
Very nice hotel for those who try and shy away from the corporate/big chains hotels or modern design IKEA-like hotels. Very spacious rooms, with classic amazing interior design. The hotel itself is very clasy with beatiful classic interior design. Service and reception were exactly what we expected: accurate, fast, knowlegeable and with a chocolate and a smile.

Quaint, German hotel
It's a small, quaint hotel. Clean and overall good service but we had slight issues with wifi that kept disconnecting and having to re-login. Very close to the Bahn train station and next to some great shopping. They do not have converters for international plugins/outlets which we needed. The staff didn't know where to direct us to find it. Overall still a positive stay!

Great Experience Except for the Heat Wave
The only negative aspect of our stay here resulted from unprecedented 100 degree F afternoon temps we experienced and the hotel's lack of AC. At night it was difficult to sleep both because of the heat and because of noise from the street which we heard because we had to keep the double windows open due to the heat. If the afternoon temps had been normal for this time of year, it is easy to imagine our experience would have been perfect. This hotel is very charming. The service excellent. I will book this hotel again if I come back to Goettingen.

Nice hotel and restaurant. My room did not have a shower: only a tub and a wand, so you may want to check that upon arrival. My co - workers had a room with a real shower. Classic look and feel. No central A/C so be prepared for some street noise if you need to open a window to cool down. I would stay here again, but perhaps not in the heat of summer.

Wish we could have stayed longer
We stayed one night at Hotel Gebhards on our way from southern Germany to Hamburg but wished we could have stayed another day. It is located conveniently close to the train station and provided us a delightful, comfortable place to stay. We recommend eating at their restaurant which is full of ambiance. We had a delicious evening meal. The breakfast buffet was excellent; one of the best we experienced during our 2 weeks in Germany. We'll definitely plan to stay here again when we're back in Germany.

Hotel Gebhards an absolute delight
Hotel Gebhards in Göttingen was superlative in every respect. We felt "at home" from the moment we checked in. The staff was solicitous of our needs, knowledgable, and pleasant. The room was so comfortable and spacious including two televisions and "free" minibar. The breakfasts were positively sumptuous including champagne each morning. The hotel is a few blocks from the Marktplatz, but a pleasant walk. The only disappointment was the shower...no enclosure made showering a bit of a challenge.

This is a classic old traditional European hotel with lots of charm. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the service was superb. This hotel is conveniently located near the train station and Goettingen city center. I had a great stay there and enjoyed the added touches like: complimentary chocolates in the room, fresh cut flower (rose) in the bathroom, and foot cloth near the bed. 10/10 for me ! Would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable Hotel at Convenient Locaiton
Haven't slept so well in a hotel in a long while. Very comfortable room and bed. Close to road and train station but no disturbance. Pleasant atmosphere and well kept. Good breakfast, which was included. Great for a business trip, would work fine for leisure too.
