It was within walking distance of the Vine pub that offers beer and Indian cuisine and West Bromich Albion Football Club. All of the staff were very helpful. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Buffet breakfast was good. However there was a lot of background noise between 6pm and 11pm that sounded like a laundry room.I I was charged an additional £7.00 for parking. Ive never had to pay this before.

Thought this hotel was such great value for money. Onsite swimming pool, spa facilities, restaurant and bar. Room was really nice and the staff were so so helpful. Short drive to some shops/supermarket and only 15/20 minute drive into Birmingham town centre. Would definitely stay here again

i was pleased with the general lay out and you let me have an early check in which helped me a lot i have had a amputation of my left toes and half the inside so after driving down 150 miles i get a bit tied so i had an hrs kip which helped me recover i was pleased with the comfort of the bed the only complaint was that there was no cups for my tea i didn’t complain that’s not my style

Excellent hotel. Very modern and clean. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The lady at reception was especially helpful and good at her job very welcoming her name was Mairita ( I think) breakfast was basic but all good quality food nice and fresh and hot.

Worst mercure I’ve stayed at, looked like a very budget hotel Bedsheet was dirty, bathroom was dated and to get cutlery you have to pay £5 just for it to be brought to the room Also they have no phones only contact is WhatsApp. So if you don’t have WhatsApp you have to go down to reception each time

But we do explain at check in and on your welcome letter that we operate with WhatsApp's and we also give you the main switchboard telephone number should you need anything meaning you do not have to come down to Reception. Sorry Mercure, you have to up your game
In terms of standards set by Mecure themselves, this hotel was not 4 stars by any standards imaginable. First of the good points, as it is only fair to do so. The staff were very friendly and very helpful; always a smile on their faces, extremely polite and reassuring. I cannot fault their customer-facing staff in any way. In terms of the breakfast, this was decent, not fantastic. but a limited range. My experience of other 4 star hotel in the UK has been significantly better. Cross-contamination between vegetarian and non-vegetartian cooked food was none more evident when staff were interchanging lids from one to the next without any concern. The room was privilege room, don't have a clue what that name reflected but was less than a Premier Inn offering. The bathroom was tiny, the fan was absolutely dirty, the wash-hand basin was dirty with remnants of thing a previous guest may have left that were not cleaned properly, the bath had enamel broken off in several places, the shower was a mixer (don't think it was thermostatic), it would run cold and hot (scalding) and no matter how much you tried to get the right balance that was impossible. All in all a really poor experience and I think at the absolute best this hotel is a 3 Star (by UK standard), elsewhere in the world (Middle East, South East Asia) it could be less.

Really lovely hotel. Great facilities with the sauna, steam room, spa pool and swimming pool. Saw straight away my mother's mobility issues and swapped our rooms for step free access.

Great hotel and plenty of facilities. I liked the restaurant and staff were friendly. Have to pay for parking £7 a night which wasn't obvious during booking. Check out was an hour later than expected, which is great but proves they're not updating their info during booking. Staff friendly and super helpful, just perhaps need a polite reminder that banter is for friends and family, not customers in a professional setting. The spa was a welcome option - just needs someone either manning it when it opens or a sign advising to help yourself to e.g. towels. No bin liners in bins so used a bag. Heated by hot air so had to blast quite hot

It is manned whilst open but the team member does have to do poolside/plant room checks whilst on duty so you may not have seen them because of this. The hotel is nice enough, but my wife and l had a terrible night there. On one of the coldest nights, the heating in the room wasn’t working, complained to staff at reception who tried to fix it to no avail, offered us extra blankets. Unacceptable, disgusted and exceptionally uncomfortable. Will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very unprofessional and poor solution to heating problem.

Booked for my daughter as she has to stay for her nursing placement she reported the reception being rude and abrupt with her not impressed at all

Check in was nice and simple, Yvonne was great! She was there to answer questions I had about my stay. It might have been handy to have a telephone in the room, but honestly, it didn't make the stay any less wonderful!

Good hotel next to M5 J1. They do like to charge for parking however bed was good and breakfast was excellent will return Tram 10 min walk
