Got Bumped

Posted Feb 19, 2018
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: NA.
Gave average ratings because we got bumped and didn't stay there, but got comped for another Extended Stay at an inconvenient location.

Not what we paid for.

Posted Feb 13, 2018
Paid extra for a double room on Expedia. They overbooked and said there were non available. Staff not helpful or sympathic. Brought in a rollaway bed that didn’t work properly- had to sit mattress on and sleep on floor. Paid almost $550 for 3 nights, and EXTRA for a double. Feel ripped off by either Expedia or Extended Stay. Never going back there and unsure of if I’ll use Expedia again.

Friendly, clean hotel

Posted Feb 3, 2018
Pros: The hotel is close to Vanderbilt University, a grocery store, several restaurants and fast food places. All are within a mile.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a breakfast instead of muffins and granola bars to grab and go.
Location: Our choice of the hotel was based on its proximity to Vanderbilt. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore.
I can't speak for anyone else, but our mid-week stay was great. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Whatever cooking supplies, tableware and extra pillows we needed were brought to our room within minutes of our check-in. It's a shame that the hotel cannot leave the kitchens stocked with those items but I can understand why they don't. The room was clean with bare wood laminate floors, so much nicer than old dirty carpeting in other places. I liked the walk in shower, vs the standard tub/shower combination. Of course with each room having a kitchen, some people were cooking. The smells of cooking food did not bother me. In fact it told me that people felt at home enough to cook.

Good location and reasonable price

Posted Jan 19, 2018
Pros: Good location and reasonable price. Fairly good condition.
Cons: See above.
Location: Close to Vanderbilt. A number of different restaurants within a few miles.
The hotel was close to where we were going and at a reasonable price. It was a nice hotel and pretty clean. Unfortunately, there were problems. Due to the weather, the water pipes had frozen and one hallway was being repaired. It was open to the outside in freezing temperatures making the whole floor and the elevator very cold. We could not get our room warm enough to take off our coats. Also, the lamp and the phone in the room were both broken. (The lamp was replaced). After several hours, we requested a different room and were moved to one away from the repair zone. The staff was very helpful and did the best the could for us in difficult circumstances.

Close to attractions, convenient, clean

Posted Jan 3, 2018
Pros: Clean, efficient, super friendly staff, easy free parking
Cons: They served two types of granola bars for breakfast. That's it. Also, there was no heat in the elevators or in the hallways--- frigidly cold.
Location: Centennial Park, Vanderbilt and Belmont, The Gulch, Lower Broadway
We had a great stay--such a perk that it's only $25 a night to bring your pet, which is soooo much cheaper than other places. The room was super clean--the kitchen was perfect--had to get a few items from downstairs for free, kinda like "checking out" your mugs, silverware, coffee pot, etc. The staff was very helpful. I think it is super smart to have laminate wood floors in the rooms with rugs, so nothing smelled like doggie or kitty in our room. Comfy bed. Really close to downtown--$7 uber ride to Lower Broadway!

Not as good as other locations

Posted Dec 22, 2017
Poorly kept, dirty floor, desk staff seemed annoyed by my presence, phone was missing buttons. Not a nice place. I've stayed at other locations so I expected better.

Pros: Close proximity to my daughters house, good price.
Cons: Make sure the bed is secure so no one falls
The person at check in was very nice, the room accommodating but when we sat on the bottom of the bed the bed lifted up on the head side and almost bucked us off. This needs to be repaired so no one gets hurt. The continental breakfast should have more than grits, it doesn't even compare to some of the other hotels that have a continental breakfast. One more thing the elevator is freezing why???

Expedia screwed me

Posted Dec 12, 2017
Got to hotel with confirmation to find it was overbooked and had been at capacity for 2 days. I had booked earlier that day. Expedia couldn’t find me another hotel...for a single business woman traveling alone. I will book directly with Marriott or Hilton from now on. Had to stay at seriously sketchy $40/night hotel 5 miles outside of town!!

Comfortable & Reasonably Priced

Posted Dec 11, 2017
Pros: Price & location
Cons: A better variety for breakfast.
Hotel convenient to downtown and university. Free parking a big plus and staff was very friendly. Room was clean and adequate sized. Surprised for a "suite" hotel that you have to go to the front desk to get any dishes/silverware. Hotel listed as having free breakfast, but only serves coffee, granola bars and packages of oatmeal. Very reasonably priced for location, but definitely bare-bones.
