Our room was lovely and the beds comfortable. It's a family-run hotel and the proprietors were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. This is a very nice place to stay in Ypres, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

This is a great little hotel run by very nice people. Priced reasonably, great location and very nice breakfast is also included. They did a load of laundry for us for only 12 euros. A 5 min walk to center of town which has great places to shop and eat and the Menin Gate ceremony is just another very short and interesting walk filled with more places to eat and drink and more shops, it's a great little town.

Wonderful stay at this cozy and convenient family-run hotel in the heart of Ypres! Delicious breakfast provided. Quick walk to city center (two city blocks), and easy to find from the train station. Also, great price!!

A Lovely Hotel
This family run historic hotel is a perfect stay close to the Central in Ieper. The room was comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and the hosts were extremely kind. I would definitely stay here again.

Vincent, Iowna & Pebbles were the perfect hosts. The ideal location for central Ypres, minutes from city centre, Menin Gate & ceremony, museums and WW1 POI. We bought our own bikes and Vincent was good enough to let us store them in his bike store for free. Cycling this area is a joy and transport links to Gent, Brussels & Brugge either train or rail. We loved our time at the Ambrosia and will be back. Absolutely recommend you stay here if looking for somewhere to stay in Ypres.

Perfect location for visiting central Ypres
My second stay with a number of years between visits. The owners are very welcoming, happy to chat and good source of advice on the best places to visit. Good breakfast provided, with a cooked option offered and lots of choice. Hotel location is great, 5 minutes from the main square and Cloth Hall, and an easy walk to the Menin Gate a few minutes the other side of the square. Free parking available on the outskirts of the town, about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Superb location, 100m from the central square. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Rooms cleaned daily to a good standard. Breakfast freshly cooked or a selection of continental food. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, and a dismal lack of coat hangers (4 coathangers provided for 3 adults). Access to hotel at night via your own key - no problem. The most disappointing aspect of our visit was the complete lack of information given regarding car parking in Ypres centre, despite asking specifically about parking immediately on arrival. There is a total ban on parking in the Market square on Saturdays - no one at the hotel mentioned this (despite being less than 100m from the square), there is no information prominently posted anywhere in the square, and even the parking meters do not display this information - you can actually still purchase a parking ticket on Friday evening which permits you stay until the following morning (10:56 in our case). Our car ( and others) was TOWED late on Friday evening to a remote garage 10km away. We discovered this on Sat morning and had to return to the hotel to find out what had happened and why. They called the "Police" who advise where the car is. 30 euro taxi ride to the dodgy garage (not Police) where the cars are held (one of 3 locations apparently) and 200 (yes, two hundred) euros to get your car back. Tony Soprano must be involved in this scam.

Excellent location in a charming town.
The area was beautiful. The daily 8 pm Menin Gate evening memorial ceremony was within 10 minute walk of the hotel and was very moving. I strongly recommend everyone attend at least once during their stay. Easy access to war memorial cemetery sites from the hotel by bicycle. Use of hotel bicycles was an appreciated bonus as they were of a very good quality compared to rentals from stores. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the breakfast room sunny and conversation was lively and engaging. The room was spotless, the bathroom very clean, bright and spacious. The fan and air conditioning made it most comfortable and the location was very quiet, no problem getting to sleep. Lovely bar across the street for a late evening beverage. Would have appreciated a small bar fridge in the room.

the hotel is down a street opposite the cloth hall. it is well signposted on the main road and also halfway down another side street. it is a quiet location and Ambrosia IS A SMALL WELL RUN HOTEL. OUR ROOM WAS AT THE TOP OF SOME STEEP STAIRS. very quiet clean and comfy. breakfast plentiful,with two slices toast two fried eggs and two rashers of bacon. plentiful juices cold meats etc. staff helpful and welcoming. all in all a really good place to base yourselves to visit the region everything in Leper is easily within walking distance from hotel.
