Quiet West Hollywood location. Room was nice and new. Well appointed. We were in a nice quiet corner of the hotel. Room was clean, front desk friendly, service efficient. Easy walk to Sunset Strip and Santa Monica boulevard.

Decent hotel close to shops

Hotel was close to a Starbucks down the street and further down a bit was shake shack and CVS as well as other fast food and restaurants. However, deluxe king as your basic room had a very small bathroom...shower sliding door wouldn't stay closed so water sprays outside as you're showering if you can't keep the door closed (we told front desk once but they attempted to fix it which only lasted 1 day then it happened again and we didn't want to bother with packing our bags to move to another room for only 2 more days.) ...we used a face cloth to block the shower door from sliding open ..the hotel renovation people said they have been having problems with this so must not be our room only...we noticed it happened bevause the shower door is actually uneven ...the hotel floor in certain areas of the room was also uneven....and the space between the bed and the wall was very narrow ..so whoever sleeps on the inside of the bed closest to the wall would not fit getting out of bed between the bed and wall and would have to get out of bed by moving forward and odd the foot of the bed so you can just swing your feet over to the side to get out of bed. Overall place is convenient but must settle for small bathroom...pote goal shoeer door that doesn't stay shut ..uneven floor in room where it feels slightly sunken in some areas...and a bed that is shoved to the wall where one person cant get ojt of bed easily if sharing 1 bed with 2 persons. ..

DECEIT AND BETRAYAL by a favorite of mine

PREFACE: I have stayed at the Chamberlain for over 2 years now - whenever I go out to LA. My stays have varied from 3 nights to a full month at a time, so I know the hotel and it's processes very very well. Never in a basic room, always using their valet, always paying for food and drinks of all sorts and truly enjoying the GEM that this hotel once was. Typically we stay at the Chateau Marmot/Sunset Tower, but the Chamberlain's staff is so incredible and dedicated they should really be running the show there and getting some serious raises [I've seen the same staff for almost 2 years now and they have gone above and beyond for me, time and time again]. I used to send everyone I knew to the Chamberlain. This time I checked in for 5 nights [4/22 - 4/27 of 2018 ]. Prior to arrival, I received an email from the hotel via Expedia stating that they had recently renovated, and that they couldn't wait to welcome me to the NEW chamberlain. I checked out the website [it's still the same today, 5/3/18] and saw that alot of the hotel was more polished and brighter, so I was quite excited for the new stay. I was thoroughly shaken upon arrival at how unfinished it was. Dismayed. Shocked. Confused. Deeply uncomfortable. Bistro+Bar was moved into a boardroom [the hours were very restrictive]. Room details were in disarray. Construction all day and night. Lots of contractors everywhere you turned. Pool closed. Zero mention of ANY of this prior to arrival. Very DECEITFUL.

Cool hotel, funky layout, if you don't mind going up 2 flight of stairs, walk a bit then have to walk back down 5 flight of stairs. Older infrastructure, thus can hear everyone walk on wood floors, bring ear plugs.
