Good location close to beaches

Overall, our stay here could have been much better. The hotel is remodeling right now and there are big boxes everywhere. Our room didn't have electric at first but they did quickly fix that problem. Our room did have a unpleasant odor and we still don't know what caused it. Aside from the workers banging and hammering all day and the smells I can't say that we will stay here again. Part of me would once they are done with all the upgrades and to give them another try. It is a pet friendly hotel so because of that he will hear dogs barking. The pool area was very nice it's just not that big. The breakfast was really good I think they could make the selections bigger and the time that they are open should also be extended but all in all it was okay.

La Quinta 3 night stay

Pros: location - we could walk to the New Jersey marathon start
Cons: cleanliness of the room. Food & coffee at the breakfast could use improvement
Location: The beach was only 2 miles away. The Long Beach Pier area had great restaurants.
Great location but the room was dusty. There was no hair dryer but they did bring a wall mounted hair dryer that I could sort of use. There was no towel rack. The coffee maker was dirty and the top was broken off. The staff were very nice.

False advertising

Despite all information online saying that they do not charge fees for domestic pets, when we arrived at the hotel (after driving 2 hours to get there), we were informed that we would be charged $30/night for our dog. When I informed them that this is not posted on their website, they said that they are aware. They knowingly false advertise their pet fees. Their customer service is absolutely disgusting and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staff was great. Facility currently under construction. Pool was great, inexpensive.

Great stay with two small dogs.

Needed this hotel to attend a funeral. With two small dogs, we had no problems and good staff.

Could have been much cleaner

Pros: They had a good breakfast, reasonable rates, nice staff, good exercise room.
Cons: The rooms could be cleaned a lot better & items removed from previous occupants.
Location: Beautiful area the beaches were nice, great restaurants.
We were in 2 different rooms the first room the shower curtain had mold on it & an item was left in the room from the previous occupant (I won't mention what it was). In the second room there was trash behind the night stand, a scarf by the bed, the blower dryer had a glob of red makeup or blood on it and a used bar of soap was in the shower from the previous occupants of the room. An M&M was on the floor in front of the dresser when we got the room and was never vacuumed up for the next 3 days we were there. It didn't appear they vacuumed the room. The last overnight day I was in the room until 11:30 am & then left for a couple of hours thinking I would give them time to clean the room. Upon returning they had not & didn't come back that day to clean it. I suppose I could have called the front desk & asked to have it cleaned or at least the towels changed but that shouldn't be my responsibility. The paint on the ceiling in the bathroom in the second room was peeling . They are in the process of renovating the rooms. The first room had not been renovated the second one had. The fresh coat of paint on the walls and doors looked good (except the peeling ceiling in bathroom).

Good hotel convenient to Monmouth University.

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Addition of a restaurant.
Location: Handy to services, Pier Village, Monmouth Beach.t
I was visiting West Long Branch from overseas to spend time with a Monmouth student related to me. La Quinta is a relatively short distance from the university, and also from the very good Monmouth Mall.
