Good stay but room to hot and staff nice friendly
Everything was good apart from the room was far to hot in room 510 and the breakfast looked as if it had been thrown together. The Staff where great and a nice and handy hotel for going places to visit.
For the price I wasn't expecting too much, but at the least for it to be clean. Bedding and towels were clean, but the room hadn't been cleaned. Fresh stains on the lamp and unit next to the bed. Toilet and bathroom also had stains and hadn't been cleaned. No food available / restaurant closed, would have been nice to know that in advance as didn't check in until 8pm
Booked and recieved gteed confirmation but when arrived told no room as had been overbooked by 40 others as well!!!! Told this happens all the time and the system lets people overbook , 23.00 on sat night so while there for 1hr trying to sort out with no result booked another hotel even though was still showjng rooms available at britannia.
The room was fine. but marks down for only 20 of free Wi-Fi, after which you have to pay. The whole reason I chose this hotel was because I thought it was free WIFI. so not going back till they have free WIFI.
I have stayed here many times and the rooms are always comfortable and excellent value with strict Covid precautions.

Awful bed
It was ok but the bed was shocking gave me and my wife a bad back
There was no air conditioning and no room safe as listed by hotels.com they said tgey have never had them hotel.com. fault nit there's. Stay away from this hotel been in bad pain since the 1st night , wouldn't stay there again
Unfortunately this was not a satisfactory stay. The WiFi kept dropping out which made it very difficult to work. The toilet flush was broken and kept flying off the toilet and across the floor every time we used it.
Also the images on the site were not in any way representative of the apartment we were allocated.I was expecting a larger outdoor space and a decked area as per the images, instead we got a tiny balcony I could not move let along work on. We were also up three flights of stairs with no lift. Completely unsatisfactory experience, and total mis sold by Hotels.com
The heating went off at 12pm which is unacceptable at this his time of year..
At 6 am it ‘cranked up’ with banging pipes etc..
My operatives are Romanian and state that they had to wear their clothes in bed!!
My thoughts??
Man up boys..😂
The room was great, as were the staff. However the walls are extremely thin and I struggled to sleep as there were other guests shouting in the hallway until the early hours

What’s your preference?
The heating system was noisy throughout the night.
It sounded as if people were bashing wooden coat hangers around and closing the cupboard doors, inside my room.
It was clean
There were towels were luxurious
The toilet paper, soap etc unusable
The fact that we cannot switch off the heater was a problem- as the dry air makes me sick
Due to that: I shortened my stay by three days. The staff were friendly and the refund went smoothly
It was very cheap but extremely disappointing. The hot needs a massive update. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the other rooms and their TVs! The mattress was so horrible i couldnt sleep most of the night. The breakfast was horrible tasteless goo; complete waste of the extra money paid for it.I will most definitely avoid it in the future following thjs terrible experience and advise people to avoid as well.Pay 20 quid more and get a decent room somewhere else.

Cheap and not so cheerful
Had to provide Photo ID and a pre-auth on my debit card, neither of which I knew about before arrival. I also found hairs on my pillow.
I stayed for 2 night first room was terrible so changed to another down stairs. I couldn’t open any windows and there was the loudest fan that kept me awake which wouldn’t switch off so then changed room. I just went back home on the 2nd night couldn’t face it. They need to change all the mattresses in there would avoid at all costs
We arrived at the britannia hotel at 12.45am and were keen on a good nights rest. Check in was quick and the man at reception was friendly. We went up to our room and initially noticed the corridors decor was not up to scratch. Very run down. We entered our room and the first thing I noticed was a Grimey light switch. It had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. Following this we noticed the bathroom was dirty and the fabric lamp was filthy (covered in what appeared to be coffee) the coffee cup given (only one instead of 2) was in a sanitised bag however had 2 flies dead in the bottom of it - far from sterile. I went to the phone to ring reception however could not bring myself to put it to my ear due to it being FILTHY.
The man on reception was quick to react and upgraded us to their “executive room” which was 10 times better than the first but still far from executive. This room was cleaner however still not up to a COVID standard. We were so tired by this point, we just wanted to sleep and thought we could deal with it in the morning. We cleaned our teeth and at this point we noticed the sink was badly leaking. We also realised there was no soap and only the body wash in the shower. In the morning I went to reception and the lady told us that “we don’t provide soap anymore due to the covid” - this was a shock for me. They did however agree to refund our final three nights as we could not stay there any longer. We instead enjoyed three nights at the premier inn.
This Hotel was booked for one of our staff who is classed as a key worker during Covi19 lockdown. The Hotel stated it was only open to essential worker's only howerever half of the hotel was ocupied by lets just say NOT key workers.
The room was disgracefull to the point that I would not let my dog sleep there. Mould in the bathrooms, a hole in the bedroom wall, thick dust on the carpets and even a leftover bar of soap in the shower. This is disgracefull in itself but to offer rooms in this condition during a Global pandemick is beyond words.
Was greeted by very friendly and caring staff.
Stayed during the covid-19 pandemic so had restrictions in place as all of the hotels do. Social distancing and ID shown.
Reception staff guided me where to order some food as I arrived at 10pm after a shift.
Room was very welcoming. Spacious and the added bonus of a large bath to soak in.
Toiletries supplied and free parking.
Great for a budget hotel and just somewhere to get some rest.
