Very disappointing and food disgusting.
Quick stay night before airport the morning after. Location great for that. However, room very basic and although looked clean, was in need of a spruce up and the carpet felt old and grubby. Pillows not very comfortable but mattress decent. The food however was disgusting. I ordered the Glamorgan Wellington and a side of thrice cooked chips plus a side salad of tomatoes (not in the menu but assumed the chef could put tomatoes in a basic vinegar dressing and this was agreed). The Wellington arrived it was very small for nearly £8 annd was greasy. It came with 2 types of pesto. The red pesto was off. I can only describe the taste as what I imagine nail varnish remover would taste like. I was immediately sickened and couldn’t eat anything more. The chips were so fat they were like roast potatoes and as for being thrice cooked they may well have been but it was in cold oil. They were soggy and dripping in grease. The tomato salad consisted of three thin slices of beef tomato in a bit of oil and vinegar that they wanted to charge me £3.50 for the privilege. Needless to say I refused. The Wellington cost was removed from the bill thankfully. My hubby ordered fish and chips and at £18.50 was on the very top end of cost for this type of dish. It had all the same issues. Greasy. Thick unappealing soggy batter. The only good thing about the dining experience was the poor waiter who was so helpful and friendly but clearly very embarrassed to have to serve food like that.

Great location
Fabulous location and scenery, hotel and rooms, tired and a little shabby, staff pleasant. Spa pool etc over sold and far to expensive an extra.

Better places to stay
Over Priced,clams to be dog friendly but only lets dogs in a dingy back bar very unwelcoming. The Chevin restricts Hotel guests access to the spa between 07:00 and 09:00 then 20:00 to 22:00 unless you pay extra per day. Over all you can find Better places to stay for the same if not less money.

Overall good.
My room was small, but clean tidy and warm. I was there for 2 nights and the room was serviced with clean towels, bins emptied etc which compared to the chains is unheard of. There was no area to work and the TV was really irritating being small and cheap with a useless remote control.

We had a lovely stay. Would of liked a little more variety on evening menu from the lunch one, as we stayed for both meals. Also found tea and coffee very strong but that is down to personal taste.

Stunning location friendly staff
Lovely lodges pet friendly staff friendly and gorgoues location. Only thing that let them down was the cleaniness in the bathroom regarding black mould... and no blind for the bathroom window yes its frosted but can still see naked body shape this lodge window was facing the road.

Needs updating and refurbishing
We booked noting location to Bradford airport albeit the taxi was circa £18 each way. Nice concept but in much need of a cash injection and overhaul. We paid extra for an Exec lodge but the carpet was dirty and some wallpaper peeling off plus the bathroom was very small and poor quality. The restaurant, food and range of drinks was ok and the staff were very friendly and worked hard but wouldn't stay again

A lovely few days staying in executive cabin number 56 with our dog. Lots of space and very warm. Staff were friendly, particularly in the spa and the breakfast was excellent. Bathroom a little dated and the shower was difficult to regulate. Love the setting and outdoor jacuzzi.

The only objections i had were smelling of dog in room and on bed clothes so the warmer the room got the stronger the smell and the cabin itself was dated. The steak i had at restaurant was very good. The staff nice to deal with. Lots of parking and very quiet.

Booked an Executive room which was just OK.. Made the mistake of paying and booking the Spa, which we attended prior to checking into our room.. The Spa was dirty, changing facilities poor with broken lockers. Dirty toilet and showers.. Uninterested staff. Outside areas filthy, loungers dirty with bird mess and empty glasses strewn around.. Broken drain tile on walk up to outdoor jacuzzi almost caused me to trip.. Once we had had enough of the expensive paddling pool, we checked into the hotel and changed our dinner reservation from 7.30pm to 6.30pm,Good job really.. As when we came to order, our desired dishes were unavailable.. Unacceptable! Eventually my partner and I compromised and chose alternative meals.. All things considered, I would describe both of our meals as poor and lacking value for money, We requested dessert menus, 30 minutes later, requested them again.. 5 minutes later we asked for a cheese board.. 20 minutes later.. Still no cheese.. Asked for the bill.. Guess what?.. Cheese was on the bill. Such a shame.. You obviously have a Diamond in the rough for an establishment, Needs some TLC and training

Not a great stay unfortunately. Arrived with a very grumpy night porter who want very customer focused. Then we checked into our room & the toilet had the last persons deposits in and was not very clean in the bathroom. The bed was lumpy and the room was extremely noisy with noises from the corridor and adjoining rooms. Lovely view from the room though but would not stay again, very outdated hotel desperately in need of modernising.

Ok, could do with a good scrub.
The woodland bedroom was nice enough, the bed was comfy, you get a microwave, tea and coffee facilities & a nice bottle of prosecco on arrival which was a lovely touch. Not the cleanest in the world, lots of dust and dirt in the bathroom on the floor, it was fine for an evening.

The staff are fantastic given the environment they have to work in. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade and a thorough deep clean. The room itself was clean but dated. However the Spa changing area was filthy dirty. Dirty towels everywhere. Unusable showers. No private changing area. Not enough seating. Very dark and gloomy. The pool and hot tubs were usable although in desperate need of an upgrade. The areas above and around the pool need a thorough clean. Not enough seating around the pool. We didn’t go into the steam room or sauna given the state of the rest of the area. The communal areas throughout the hotel are in desperate need of cleaning and redecorating. It’s very dark and gloomy. The toilets are clean. The restaurant is really dark and gloomy. The walls and ceiling are painted a very dark blue making it feel oppressive. The furniture needs updating. It felt very dirty. The food was nice but expensive for what it was. Pub food At restaurant prices. Only one choice on main menu for vegetarians. No vegan options. Wine was lovely. The staff deserve a better environment to work in. This place could be so much better. It’s in a beautiful setting but needs investment. I did leave feedback at the hotel too and really hope they find the investment to make improvements.

This is not acceptable and I can assure you that your comments have been forward to the Hotel Manager and that action will be taken to address the issues you have raised. A refurbishment plan is already underway which will encompass the spa area and attention is being paid to these areas.
