Country hotel

Friendly but frequently very slow service, particularly Sunday morning breakfast where many of the food options ran out. The queue for cooked breakfast unacceptable at a 4* hotel. Breakfast on other days pleasant. Would recommend Claret Jug restaurant opposed to Carvery Grill as again slow service. Should offer two menus so pricing clear if not opting for £28 three course menu. Hotel restaurant dark and gloomy, lighting needs attention. Rooms a good size but bathroom requires an update.

One night stay

Beautiful location, entrance and foyer. We were in a standard room and it was quite shabby. Room was clean enough but had a few cobwebs. Bathroom needed updating. Fantastic breakfast. Considering price, we got what we paid for and would stay again.

Disappointing experience all together

Do not expect the "Hall experience", this is a huge place with lots of rooms. Staff in charge of luggage on arrival talking to each other instead of taking care of guests. Reception staff somewhat relaxed. Dinner could not be booked before 9:15pm although the (huge) dining room was half empty at that time. Dining room staff friendly and helpful. So, all together not the kind of experience you would expect for this kind of place and price

Room with no view.

Nice hotel, however, I was disappointed by the view of basically the ground, and the lack of proper lighting (only lamps in the main area making it difficult to see at night). That said, the staff were kind and the building itself is lovely.

Well located for nearby towns and of course golf

Pros: Location, parking, gardens
Location: Yorkshire Sculpture Park
A good hotel if you want a birthday bash, family tea parties, golf society or organise a conference. A a couple we felt outnumbered

AMAZING HOTEL, GREAT FOOD AND A GREAT EXPERIENCE

This was my third visit at Oulton Hall and yet again it didn't disappoint. On arrival my partner and I checked in to be told we had been complimentary upgraded to one of the hotel suites! The room was something else I have never stayed in anything like it! The bed was huge and so comfortable! A few of the curtains in the room were coming off the rails slightly but that's a very minor maintenance error that didn't bother us at all. I have stayed in the standard bedrooms and they are brilliant too! The drinks at the hotel bar are expensive but it was nice to sit and have a glass or two in the lovely bar area. In the morning we went down for breakfast and it was great. The restaurant is decorated lovely and has such a nice feel to it. The food was great, there was a lot of variety. Staff were regularly asking if you wanted tea or coffee and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! The hotel is in a great area, not too far from Leeds city centre at all or Xscape where we went to eat dinner one night and it was brilliant! Another minor problem we found was parking, there are two car parks one directly at the front of the hotel and a larger one at the rear. Morning parking was fine we could get parked at the front but when it came to night we struggled to find a park in either car park we just had to keep driving round until a space was free. All in all this hotel is amazing, I would recommend to all! A fabulous stay with friendly staff and a brilliant room!

Fabulous hotel and best rate found on the app

We were visiting family so have used this hotel a few times. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We use the gym facilities and are always very impressed considering it is a hotel gym. They have great equipment and a good size studio with a selection of classes too. I always look around for prices at Outlon Hall and find the best rate on the Hotels.com app.

wedding reception

Pros: Everything from the decor, comfort, cleanliness and made to feel really special wonderful .
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
Location: Stayed at the hotel and then The Claret Jug.
From arriving to checking out it was amazing. Attention to detail is the motto of Oulton Hall and Ben the events manager was there every step of the way making sure our reception was perfect. I felt like royalty.....fabulous.
