Doesn't deserve 4 star rating. Novotel better

The lobby was very warm, The room was clean and has everything you need. The black veneer furniture looks dated and tacky in my opinion, and it was scratched. The bathroom had Nowhere to hang your towels, confusing shower and bath controls with no markers or instructions .
Nice Elemis toiletries which were replaced daily and big fluffy towels. Housekeeping didn't wash used mugs and glasses, annoying. also didn't knock when they arrived at 9am and I was still in the room. Wifi connection drops out occasionally Plenty of closet space, usual lack of hangers, Bed was comfortable. but the sheet didn't appear to fit and kept coming untucked. Air con worked well in the room. room was quiet and the double glazing blocks most of the traffic noise from outside. Group of lads next door came in at 3am and played loud music. Called reception and they did ask them to keep it down. I guess this hotel attracts that sort of crowd.

Checkout was simple but I was charged twice for my booking, promised a refund and a confirmation email and this was not sent.I had to call back, and the person on the phone was as if she didn't believe me when I said I had been charged twice. Was then passed to the manager and had to explain the whole saga agin instead of being handed over by the colleague.
