Pros: Price, Location, and good accommodation.
Cons: booking in and out when the pub is shut. Not suitable if you can't climb steep stairs.
Location: On a main road with a bus stop outside, car park to rear, lots of shops. One mile (20 minute walk) from town centre, downhill from the pub.
adequate breakfast, slight noise from air con/kitchen extractor but this was only switched on at 7:30am and switched off at 11:30pm so overall not to much of a problem for me but may be for others if they have the single room, the was now one around when I left so had to leave through the kitchen as this was the only door open, nearly same situation when arrived but that time the was someone in the kitchen and they opened back door for me. Overall I would still go back so the above are only minor points.

weeknight stays

Pros: Service
Location: Lovely Greenhead park just down the road toward the centre of town.
I had a fine stay for 5 nights in July, while I was working in Leeds. ‘ Picked off the internet, I was a little concerned that inn / tavern might mean that I was in for a bawdy or raucous evening crowd, with music blearing until the small hours, or irritating gaming machine sounds non-stop? Not really. A little sound came through the floorboards when someone used a microphone downstairs, but fine really. My room faced a carpark at the rear. Croppers is certainly a pub in style but in use more like a restaurant, with rooms upstairs. And quiet enough when I was there. Being an older building, some sounds did travel at quiet times - people movements about 5:30 some mornings, or the rubbish truck about 7am. Breakfast was fine. And the staff couldn't be more helpful, including the chefs. Location - fine, with a little road noise from the street at the front. Loads of buses go to town in the morning, but I walked to the Huddersfield station in 15mins for trains to Leeds. My room was fine and spacious. Would I stay again - definitely.

This inn is really nice, it is out of the town centre but close enough to be able to walk to the centre and avoid taxi fares. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast which was cooked to order was delicious!

Mediocre. Check-in time was stated as 2 p.m. onwards but when I arrived about 3 p.m. all the doors were locked and it took quite some time for the landlord to show up. The pub is nice enough but the hotel room is small and seedy.

Cons: I had to leave at 7am & breakfast didn't start till 7:30. As I couldn't wait I got £5 back. Can't ask for more really.
Location: It is above a pub but it was a friendly pub with music they wasn't too loud as I didn't hear it in my room. This was mid week.
A nice comfy, friendly clean place to rest over night.
