The hotel lobby and hallways to my room smelt very strongly of Indian food on arrival. Once in my room the smell was not present, the room was comfortable, but a little cold. Breakfast was good and plentiful and staff were friendly and welcoming. The Italian restaurant attached Sloanes is excellent, but eat early as the kitchen closes at 9pm. I felt a little rushed entering at 8.30pm, but the evening porter/receptionist was lovely and continued the restaurant service.

The staff were great. Management were berating staff on our departure .. totaly unprofessional. The hotel was in darkness when we arrived at 8pm. The bar next door had our room key. There were residents who were either drunk or drugged up and even threatened us with a hold up "joke" when we were sat in the bar waiting for dinner. We took our dinner to the bedroom. The room was ok but bathroom was tiny with not enough room for a bath.. this was not on the booking. We did not go for breakfast as felt too threatened.

Good location, shame about the bed
The hotel is really well situated, there is off road parking and the staff are really helpful. I had room 215 and the bed was 2 single beds pushed together, unfortunately one of the single mattresses seemed to have had considerable more wear than the other, this caused a rather disturbed sleep due to the inbalance.

It is in the centre of Wakefield and has good parking and a good Italian restaurant. Only has rooms with showers, which I hadn't noticed when I booked. I like a bath.

Nice Hotel. Excellent Dinner and Breakfast with efficient and curtious waiting staff. Spacious room with a compact ensuite shower. The room was clean but the queen size bed could have been more comfortable. Overall, we would stay there again.

Nobody on reception open arrival and waited 10 mins for someone to arrive. Room was dated and lack of storage bathroom had been redone. Breakfast was a disgrace sausage was off bacon and egg was well over cooked toast was burnt. Beans were cold along with the mushrooms.

There were none of the little touches that make a stay special. This hotel had a basic competence. Breakfast choice was limited, though there were not many guests staying.

OK hotel in a great location
Great location and easy to find. Parking was great. The only minor issue was the breakfast. The beans Had a very odd tast to them almost like they were off or heavy with vinegar. The portion control was very sparse and when I asked for a bacon and sausage sandwich on brown bread I received one sausage and one bacon between two pieces of dried whit toast. So not that great when it comes to the breakfast. But otherwise a good hotel in a great location.

Slightly disappointing and the place needs some character and soul, I was the only person around and sadly lacked any ambience or modernisation. Room was dated and few issues starting to appear, Almost like financial troubles and keeping head above the water.

Great Welcome helpful In providing a Travel cot for our baby and setting all up in room upon arrival . We where given a room set for disabled customers so the sink was really low in bathroom and shelf above the sink meant I kept bumping my head while trying to wash & clean teeth it also meant things where in reach of our 14mths old so we needed to be careful , Tea & Coffee in room bit no kettle ? When we asked for one it was delivered to room but didn’t work so we had to call for another one . Night staff in at this point it was provided but no real sorry given , Breakfast lots of choice included in price so that’s good . Toast very burnt but otherwise food ok I’d say overall the price was high for the experience but it was an ok Hotel . Function Room was on good condition we came to stay as a party was being held here that we attended

Good value stay in city centre location.
An overnight stay on our way back from a lovely holiday. The room was small but fine for purpose. Shower impossible to regulate the temperature which was scalding hot, otherwise no complaints.

A great stay.
I booked a single room for a Sunday night stay and when checking in I got a free upgrade to a double room so I was happy with that. The kingsize bed (two singles joined together) took up a lot of space in the room and might've been a squeeze for two people but fine for just me. There was a slight humming noise throughout the night, not sure if it was from the restaurant below or the building behind so not the best night's sleep but I would stay again as everything else was great . The bathroom was very clean, the shower was amazing and the breakfast was a generous portion. Thank you!

There was a few issues at the hotel due to rowdy guests. Hotel dealt with the issues and offered a part refund to say sorry. Can't say fairer than that. Great location for centre of Wakefield.

Get to Wakefield - it's brilliant...
Stayed in Wakefield for a day/night out. Hotel is in great locations and bars/nightclubs there is an abundance. Great time.

Good convenient hotel
I spent 2 nights from 18th to 20th August in a single room at this hotel. The room was small but very clean and well appointed with shower and toilet, hair dryer, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and minii fridge. The hotel is very well located: near to Westgate Staion and close to the city centre. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is situated beside the main hub of the town so easy access to shops, cafes etc. A friendly welcome given by all staff at the hotel and adjoining restaurant. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Great location, excellent room and breakfast.
We stayed here during an exhibition at Unity Works (less than a minutes walk away so perfectly located) and would highly recommend it. Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable room (we had 210) and good breakfast. We'll be booking again next time we come, I don't know why the hotel currently only has a 3.6 rating as for the price we paid it deserves the full 5* and I'd happily pay more.

Reception was shut when i arrived at 8pm, eventually they did come through from the bar. they were efficient but blunt, not very welcoming. I had booked half board, I wish i had not booked it, reception told me clearly that half board entitled me to two courses of the early bird menu only!!. the restaurant was busy with Christmas parties, but when i did order the food the standard was poor, garlic mushrooms starter was chopped mushrooms with what i think was a garlic gravy and 1... yes 1 piece of french bread. mains was chicken skewers, this was chicken, onion and peppers on skewers, no sauce, flavouring, not even griddled, nothing at all, it tasted extremely bland, this was with chips that were soggy and greasy. I left most of the dinner and went to one of the local restaurants instead.breakfast was ok to be fair. the room was basic as expected and at the cost this was fine, the bed was very comfortable. I may return as the cost was good but will only book room only and steer clear of the restaurant.

nice place, great location for us nightlife wise, room small but okay, bed was past its sell by date, like you rolled straight to the middle of it due to it been worn out. good car park adjacent and free when stopping at the hotel, nice breakfast. will use again with no hesitation due to the location.

Centrally Located, Good Value.
Pleasant welcome, nice staff. Great value half board, excellent piece of steak. Kitchen extractor was right outside my bedroom window, which was noisy and didn't go off until after 11pm. But apart from that and a very small TV screen in room, a nice place.
