Amazing place, wonderful staff. And meerkats!
We enjoyed 2 nights here and were delighted with our stay. The exquisite setting and great accommodation were topped only by the friendly and helpful staff team who looked after us from the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out. Food in the restaurant was excellent. The meerkat safari is a must and with our own car we were able to return for breakfast after observing them for a couple of hours then head out to Cango Caves and onto drive the Swartberg Pass stopping in Prinz Albert for lunch and looping back home for a massage at the guest farm before dinner. An extraordinary day itinerary!

De Zeekoe Guest Farm is an exquisitely beautiful Klein-Karoo farm with magnificent views of the mountains. It has a very tranquil atmosphere and if it gets too hot there is a swimming pool to lounge in. Kristy and her staff are very friendly, warm and hospitable. My husband got COVID and Kristy offered us a free stay so that he could isolate in one place. We will for sure visit De Zeekoe again and we are also looking forward to explore their game lodge: Wildehond Game Reserve. I highly recommend to stay there if you are looking for accomodation in the Klein Karoo.

The view to the mountains was superb. Sitting on the veranda and looking over the country side was a terrific experience. The pool was in a lovely position .

Loved staying in the cottage away from the main hotel, but the road backwards and forwards was rather a rough ride!

Thank you for the positive review and our sincerest apologies about the road. Because of the severe drought we can't flatten out the road as you need a lot of water to do that. As soon as we have a little more water, the road is nr 1 on the list to fix! Next time you will have a smooth ride :)

Nice place but bad Wifi service.
my Maine complaint was about the wifi, it was not working in my room or even in other areas. I told the receptionist that I'm here on business and I have to have access to good wifi, otherwise I have to leave your place and find another place with good wifi service. the lady assured me it will be fixed the next morning, but it was not fixed, then they said the installer is too busy.

I loved the giant fireplace in our cabin. The bed was big and beautiful. The port was a nice touch. I just loved the entire cabin.

not at all totally satisfactory
Stayed here before and liked it. This time, however, we were 'given' accommodation some 3 kilometers from the main building/restaurant; a drive along a totally dusty 'path'. Yes, good view - but still unsatisfactory as a whole. Reception was so-so by a young lady poorly trained or not at all trained. She knew nothing! Massage was good. Food/dinner at best so-so. Breakfast OK.

When we checked in, I saw 2 cats in the living room, and when I told the Receptionist I'm allergic to cats, she did nothing about it. I chose this property because we wanted to do the meerkat walk, but they told us it was sold out and they cannot squeeze in 2 more people. Very disappointing! The air conditioner in the room next to us was so noisy, that we couldn't sleep. We tried to get hold of someone for half an hour and when we finally got hold of someone, she was kind enough to give us another room.

Great Spot
We had a beautiful one-night stay here: rooms were large, clean and with lovely porches (loved the chair swing). The food was great and the service friendly. We had a blast on the meerkat adventure as well - highly recommend!

Cabin lost great room provided
A nice stay had booked a cabin but did not know they were both with the immediate main facilities but were in the bush could not find them with the poor directions and signage Asked to have a room at the immediate facilities where the pool dining etc was this was no problem they gave us a nice room overlooking the lawns and pool area Food was fantastic a credit to the kitchen

This place was great just outside oudtshoorn peacefull and in beautiful setting .well run place and would recommend They do a meerkat safari early in morning but no guaranty meerkats will be there but no charge if not

Lovely stay.
We had two very enjoyable nights at De Zeekoe in the middle of January.. There was nothing about our stay which we could possibly wish to complain about. The staff were delightful and very helpful. We were given a tour on arrival. Large bedroom with comfortable bed with mosquito net which was probably not needed but it was good to have the reassurance of the net. Efficient air con and a ceiling fan if needed or as an alternative. Plenty of outside space with comfortable sun loungers around the pool. As the property is about seven kilometers outside Oudtshoorn we had dinners both nights. Both very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed being outside on the open terrace. Thoroughly recommended.

It was an OK stay
The hotel was OK but not brilliant, I cannot say anything specific about it, I was probably most disappointed with the food offered, especially the breakfast which I found to be very poor.

Welcoming stay
Our stay at the cabin by the lake was very nice & comfortable. The common area at the main lodge are very nice (pool, breakfast room and balcony). The staff was very welcoming and always eager to assist and please (esp as we were traveling with our 10 month old baby)

Our room was lovely, nice balcony and bath I found it to be a good overall value. Found dinner and breakfast to be good. Loved the meerkat experience. The property is a great place to relax and there is much to do in the area.

Stunning stay on Guest Farm
Stopped on the way back to Cape Town to take an adventure through the Cango Caves. Had an amazing 1 night stop at De Zeekoe Guest Farm. They really looked after us. The room was stunning and had every comfort that we could think of. The breakfast the following morning was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Total tranquility . A true log cabin on the lake
We stayed in fish eagle log cabin on the lake surrounded by so much wildlife . Lovely peaceful setting totally dark skies at nite . No sounds apart from the chirruping insects . Great breakfasts and a wonderful evening meal watching the sun dissapear behind the mountains .. stunning

Nice place to stay near Oudtshoorn
We stayed in one of the less-expensive cabins on the lake. For the price, it was fine. The cabins are about a mile away from the main lodging area, on a dirt road that is quite bumpy. The cabin was cold in mid-September; they must be freezing in earlier months. The cabins are clean, have two bedrooms, a nice patio, great wifi in the cabins! Breakfast was nothing special. Not a bad base to visit the area.

Loved the setting by the lake wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the quaint cabin it was So cosy and had all the amenities. Unfortunately the air conditioning did not work and the cabin was cold in the morning. We used the open fire during the evening which created a delightful ambience but was very smokey. Also the shower head was wonky and we read in the visitor book that a previous guest some days earlier noted it needed fixing. Breakfast was nice but could have offered more variety and fruits. More attention to detail and it would be perfect but we still do recommend a visit and hope to return ourselves

Beautiful farm stay.
We stayed for one night hoping to visit one of the ostrich farms and do the meerkat experience offered by the hotel. The accommodation and facilities surpassed our expectations. Early morning, 6:30, we met for the meerkat experience which lasted about 2 hours. An absolute must for anyone staying at this hotel.

Loved our stay here for 2 nights. Our room was very individual and tasteful with balcony. The bar/restaurant area has beautiful views of the mountains. Have had better food, but everyone bent over backwards to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable
