We had the loft suite and it was absolutely beautiful! Every detail is so tasteful, the decor the gardens, the breakfast… highly recommend and would suggest more than one night. It’s an exceptional place to stay. They even washed our car before we left! Loved it!

Don’t hesitate- book this place if it’s available
This place was the nicest we have stayed in South Africa.. we had the espirit suite and it was an enormous and luxurious set of rooms overlooking the lake. Much has been said about the springbok s and zebra in the adjoining field but mention must be made of the crickets,and the weaver birds we watched from the private patio in front of our room. Magical. The room and gardens were filled with floating flower heads. The plentiful towels were thick and fluffy. The toiletries were good quality . And the room contained ground coffee and a percolator, home made rusks, fruit, water, and a well stocked minibar. The super king 4 poster bed had fabulous quality bedding and was so comfortable. The breakfast. Oh the breakfast was sooo good. Fruit salad yoghurt, cereals and juice followed a menu of cooked options. I thoroughly recommend the French toast. Oh, and the younger berry jam is scrumptious.scones, crosissqnta and good qulitycoffee. It was a feast. And this is after we ate a fab dinner at the next door restaurant the previous night. The welcome at this blissful place was warm, and we felt very safe. I can’t recommend this place enough. Sadly we stayed for one night only but it was a long way from a stop over- this place is a destination and an event. It has a superb well kept ( and warm!!)swimming pool , wonderful gardens, and great communal indoor areas too. It is well worth a detour just to have this experience!

Chilled wine , hot tub and zebra!
This boutique guest lodge is in a ideally located for people travelling the Garden route. Perfect luxurious stopover, a pool and jacuzzi overlooking springbok and zebra is an absolute bonus! The accommodation is luxurious too, fantastic attention to detail and quality, including breakfast! Charming staff A true gem!

A Lovely Hotel
Perfect quaint and comfortable hotel that was a great stop for us on our roadtrip. We loved the animals on the property as well as the refreshing pool. The couple who owns this hotel does a great job in ensuring their guests are welcomed and comfortable during their stay.

LOVE this place!
Love this place! Excellent standards, really well appointed, fantastic pool and jacuzzi overlooking springboks and zebras- the view was a lovely surprise! Can’t fault the service. We slept really well and breakfast was fantastic- we were even catered for a little early due to having to leave for our flight. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We have stayed here a few times and it has always been excellent ! The garden was beautiful , rooms spotless and well appointed and breakfast delicious . Service was excellent at all times . Can highly recommend this hotel . I found the bed a little hard but that's my opinion , we like soft beds and others like hard ones !

We were only looking for an overnight stay while traveling to and from the Garden Route. We were not expecting a "resort" where people stay for several days to enjoy the beauty of the landscaping, pool and personal service. The landscaping was meticulously cared for. As we went to our car to leave an employee was washing our car! How many places do that?

Sometimes, 5 stars does not do justice.
The term "luxury" to describe amenities is massively overused. I live in SE Asia and am used to very high Asian standards of genuine luxury and exclusivity. Many so called "luxury" resorts in other parts of the world, fall at the first hurdle with substandard amenities or service. Rothmans Manor, on the other hand fulfils any genuine expectation of real indulgent luxury, manifested in an exquisite attention to detail in the rooms, bathrooms, bedding, gardens, pool, public amenities and superlative attitude to personal service. I cannot praise this property enough. It is stunning.

The attention to detail was superb. Such a beautiful place to spend a night. The staff and owners could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. It is immaculately clean and well looked after. We will definitely be going back.

I loved it. I have travelled a lot and stayed in some some amazing places but Rothman Manor is one the best, ever. Amazing attention to detail. Wonderful helpful hosts. The setting is fantastic. I could not recommend it highly enough. I miss it already.

SUPERB IN SWELLENDAM
A wow around every corner in this luxury boutique hotel. From the moment you drive in through the gates you realise that this is somewhere special. On arrival (slightly ahead of the 1400 hrs check in time) I was warmly welcomed by the owner Andreas and given an orientation of the property and the room; if I am honest I just couldn’t stop smiling, it was stunning.I was in the Morning Sky Suite. The room was fabulous, spacious (approx 50 sqm) had a king size four poster bed with canopy, separate sitting area with sofa, LCD TV and reasonably priced mini bar. The room had two separate outdoor patio sitting areas each with their own entrance, one with two sun loungers and a private entrance to the pool, the second with two chairs and a table over looking the pool. The bathroom was immaculate and well equipped; spa bath, separate rain fall shower and twin sinks. The shower gels/soaps/bath salts were all high quality Rothman Manor own brand. The grounds are where the Rothman Manor really comes in to its own; they are fabulous. A swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and loads of pool side fluffy towels. The grounds are dotted with lots of private areas with a pairs of loungers or chairs in which to relax. The gardens are absolutely immaculate with two ponds and great views. There is a jacuzzi, with a chill out Tepee next to it, on raised decking overlooking the small eco reserve below. I sat in the Jacuzzi watching zebras and springbok below.

Great hotel for more than just a stop-off
Fantastic hotel in a surprising location. We just used this as a stop off on the way back to Cape Town from Knysna, but wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful grounds, hot tub overlooking zebras and springboks, very friendly owners, delicious breakfast etc! And all for a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended.

This hotel prides itself on its 5* luxury rating which is well deserved. The amenities are as one would expect of an establishment which is rated as such. The hosts were very welcoming and there were a couple of differences which are worthy of note - the excellently kept gardens, including the zebra and springbok enclosure at the end of the formal gardens, and the car cleaning service whilst we were having our breakfast. (An especially daunting task since we had just returned the previous day from a drive along unmade roads in one of the National Parks). The breakfast we had was also very good. This hotel is highly recommended

Es gibt noch das kleine Paradies! Vom herzlichen Empfang in dieser romantischen Unterkunft in einer liebevoll eingerichteten Suite fühlten wir uns sofort wohl, konnten entspannen und waren von einer gepflegten Gartenanlage umgeben. Springböcke und ein Zebra gehören mit zu dieser Anlage. Der Frühstückstisch liebevoll und edel gedeckt. Wir waren wunschlos glücklich . Gerne wären wir noch länger geblieben.

Ein kleines Paradies
Wir haben Anfang Oktober 2017 zwei wundervolle Tage in dem Hotel verbracht und waren sehr angetan von den Zimmern, dem guten Service, der freundlichen Bedienung und vor allem von der wundervollen Natur rings herum. Der Garten oder besser kleine Park ist sehr schön angelegt, mit viel Liebe zum Detail - am Seerosenteich ließen sich die Webervögel beobachten oder aber auch auf der angrenzenden Wiese die Zebras. Wer zwei Tage die Seele baumeln lassen möchte oder aber auch etwas unternehmen möchte (z.B. im hübschen Ort Swellendam oder im kleinen Nationalpark in der Nähe), der ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Schönes Hotel mit privater Atmosphäre, sehr individuellen Garten und gutem Service. Das von einem deutschen Ehepaar betriebene Hotel bietet viele Möglichkeiten zur Entspannung und zum Wohlfühlen. Leider hört man den Verkehr der am gegenüber liegenden Hang vorbeiführenden N2. Dennoch hatten wir einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt.

Diese Adresse ist wirklich ein Geheimtipp. Im Rothman Manor passte einfach alles. Die Zimmer sind luxuriös ausgestattet; die Einrichtung sehr geschmackvoll und mit viiiel Liebe zum Detail. Wir fühlten uns wie im Paradies. Und das ist wahrlich keine Übertreibung. Das zum Rothman Manor gehörige große Gartenareal ist sehr gepflegt und lädt zum Ausspannen auf einer Liege ein. Es besteht weiterhin die Möglichkeit, Zebras und Kudus von einer Plattform aus zu beobachten. Das Frühstück ist mit viel Liebe zubereitet und ausgiebig. Es gibt sogar Brötchen von einem deutschen Bäcker. Eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den Toastbroten, die einem sonst meistens in Südafrika zum Frühstück serviert werden. Man mag es anfangs nicht glauben. Das 1834 erbaute Haus ist in einem Top-Zustand. Das vor 17 Jahren ausgewanderte deutsche Paar aus Bayern sorgt dafür, dass die gesamte Anlage in einem einwandfreien Zustand ist. Den meisten Häusern und Wohnungen würde man ein derartiges Alter ansehen - nicht jedoch dem Rothman Manor. Kompliment für dieses Top-Management

charmante Unterkunft mit gigantischem Garten
Sehr nette und persönliche Gastgeber, welche einen tollen Tag versüßten. Der Garten ist einfach nur ein Traum mit einem Pool, einem Whirlpool und natürlich dem hauseigenen Zoo. Das individuelle und leckere Frühstück rundeten das großartige Gesamtbild ab. Danke dafür.
