Very clean and comfortable

Posted Jan 4, 2017 on Hotels
We were just in town for one night and most of our time was spent with family in the area. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was a little bit tricky to find, being behind the larger Marriott. The only negative thing I would say is that the breakfast area should be larger to accommodate more guests. There were only 3 tables and some people were standing.

Elena, Thank You for Your comments! My apologies for the smaller breakfast area....I believe that Marriott's thinking behind this is that since the rooms have full kitchens and desks that Guests would go back to their rooms to eat.

The room was very nice. The couch was a bit worn but clean. The kitchen was really nice and we were surprised to find it stocked with cookware, plates and flatware. The only faults we had with our room were that the toilet was really low (not good with my bad knees) and outside sounds really carried into the room. Some one talking in normal tones in the hallway sounded like they were right in our room. If not for that I would have given our stay 5 stars.

Thank You for Your comments Julie! Sorry about the toilet height....maybe that is something we can fix in the future.

Great layout to room

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Pros: Layout and on site free breakfast.
Stayed at the hotel for 5 days so having a couch to sit on and a kitchen area was a benefit. Nice breakfast served everyday with a good selection of hot and cold choices.

Good family location

The floor plan worked well for us. Plenty of room to maneuver. Lovely workarea. Bureau behind a door. Cabinets were entry level quality. They were showing serious signs of wear. Also a grab bar in the shower by the shower head was strange. You need to climb between the toilet and shower to use it.

Untrained staff at front desk- very disappointing

Posted Dec 23, 2016
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Train your front desk staff properly and present your policy for placing a monetary hold on customer accounts for 3-5 days and the dollar amount.
Location: It was in Westlake, surrounded by many places to eat.
The woman who checked us in was not well trained in how to do her job, and lacked basic listening skills. She did not give me a total for what she charged on my credit card. I asked her if the total was what I had had from booking on line. She said no, and told me a total $75 above the price from online. She then proceeded to tell me how it is the policy of the company to charge for incidentals and the charge would be removed in 3-5 days. I informed her that it was illegal to charge an amount I was unaware of, and it was her job to tell me PRIOR to charging my account of the total. She rushed to pawn me off to her manager, but I insisted she listen to what I was saying to her, because the company policy wasn't the problem. The problem was she was not doing her job. If this is the way your company does things, it is wrong. I doubt that it is, and it was just a case of a poorly trained employee. Please train your employees to give amount totals to customers, and make sure to get consent to that amount PRIOR to charging or putting holds on accounts. Your employee finally apologized, but by the time she did, I was furious. When we got to our room, my husband went online and checked our bank account. We were only charged $25 over the advertised online rate. Am I to conclude that your employee really was as clueless as this seems? Any policies that you expect a customer to adhere to, should be presented in writing to them.

Lisa, My apologies this happened to you. We very rarely have anyone question this policy, as it is stated on Marriott.com and Expedia's website, so she was probably flustered by your asking. It is surprising, given she has worked with us a long time. I did review the policy with her and how to explain it to Guests who don't travel that often, so that any other Guests staying with us would have a proper understanding of the policy if they had missed it, or forgotten about it, when they originally booked their reservations. Have a wonderful Holiday week!

Very nice

A little hard to find the room door entrance. Maybe add numbers or letters over door entrances. Otherwise very nice. I like the different bedrooms with doors. Helps when you have snoring roommates.

Would never recommend this place!

Posted Sep 26, 2016 on Hotels
I would not recommend for anyone to stay here unless you're used to roach motels. I checked in, went to the room and knew immediately that I could not stay there! I cancelled and went to the courtyard!

Some people are surprised when they check-in at our hotel....why? We are an Extended Stay Property, so we have full kitchens, and our suites are set up in an "apartment" style.... Not every Guest is expecting this, or needs this, but the Guest who relocating, on a work project, etc. will appreciate the set-up, because it feels more "at home" then your average 1 to 2 night hotel. If you are into Real Living, then our Towneplace Suites is for you!

Awesome Stay

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Full kitchen!!
Cons: Better cable channels
Location: Plenty of food nearby, right off the freeway
This place was very nice, I had a two bedroom, full kitchen and living room. Hotel staff was very accommodating, because this is a Marriott hotel we were able to use the Courtyard Hotel (also owned by Marriott) indoor pool and hot tub. This hotel has an outdoor pool and grill. The hallways were clean and quiet. Just not any good cable channels.

Thank You so much for the Compliments! You'll be happy to hear that we will be changing over tv systems in the future to Marriott's "new" Entertainment package! It will include the ability to log into Net Flix, etc. sites on our televisions....
