Good location

The location was good close to the beach neighborhood quiet but the only thing I’m disappointed is about the cleaning staff the sheets in my bed were dirty and also the smell in the room was terrible too.

Worst hotel in Santa Cruz

I booked Surf City Inn for two nights. It was dirty, alot of noise and people fighting. On my second day I found a bed bug and informed the manager they didn't seem to care much. Like this is a normal thing for this motel. I packed my kids up in the middle of the night and drive 3 hrs home because I wasn't going to risk getting another scummy hotel. My kids have a few bites from yhe bed bugs. Please do not stay here

No curtains

The only thing I don't like is that they don't have curtains I have to put a blanket in the Windows I have stayed there twice the only problem for me was the curtains.

Dirty

Cons: Clean it
Everything needed to be cleaned, it was nasty. The blinds could only be closed one way, the other direction had so much caked on dirt, and they kept out no light. The shower head looked like it had never been cleaned. They require you to leave a 100.00 deposit, which leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I just wanted something clean, it missed the mark.

Nasty place

So let’s start with the front office the guy working was not friendly at all. We got to our room a suite as they called it a king bed in the front and a bedroom with a queen. So going in to the room with the queen the bed was super soggy and dented in. The queen headboard was filled with dust which clearly meant they did not clean it. There was no tv in this room. The king bed was stif as can be, headboard also filled with dust. The king bed pillows where still dirty with what looked to be chocolate on them.The blinds where broken and dirty. The room was very dirty. They did say on the website they just remoled, I would love to see where. Overall this place didn’t feel clean at all. We slept on top over everything and used our jackets as pillows. Not worth 138.

Dirty

There were stains on the walls with what seemed to be body fluids. We also found dirty underwear from a previous customer. We had reserved for two nights, but I canceled the second one and left. The manager promised me a refund for the second night. I will have to follow up.

Location/price great, the rest not to much.

Hot water was intermittent, meaning that sometimes there was none. Carpets are filthy as well as walls. Beds were fine. Location and price ideal.

Nice heated indoor pool, but sub-par room.

We chose this hotel for its heated pool and jacuzzi, which were toasty warm (perfect for a cold winter day). So that was as advertised. The room was less appealing, with horribly-stained carpeting and discolored doors, etc.. The handles to many cabinets and drawers were broken off. The closet had no hangers (nor were any provided to us after we made a request).

This is my first time here in Santa Cruz and was recommended by a friend to stay at Surf City Inn. The size of our room, cleanliness, and it’s moderness caught me by surprise! It was also nice to have an indoor pool/jacuzzi onsite as well even though it was really cold :) Overall, our stay was very comfortable and I would definitely come back!
