My Lost Belongings

Posted Sep 21, 2016
Pros: My room and bed were comfortable.
Cons: Customer Service! Please make it easier for guests to retrieve their forgotten belongings.
Location: White Plains. Restaurants and Shopping.
This would have been at least a 4.5 star review if I based it on my stay there for a week and not on what happened afterwards. I was a guest at this Hampton Inn between September 2nd and September 8th. I paid over a Thousand Dollars of my own money for this stay. My bed was nice and my stay was generally comfortable. But I forgot some belongings in the room. I am having an extremely tough time with the staff in my attempts at retrieving my belongings. I took a 22 hour flight as soon as I had checked out of the hotel. It was not till the next week when I realized some of my essential items were missing. In the mean time I received an email from Chelsee, the Manager, saying they had some of my belongings and would hold them for me for 30 days. I was so relieved to read that mail but when I called to arrange for the pick-up, the Manager and the housekeeper kept telling me they would call me back with what they had found. Nobody called me although I had provided a local (914) phone number. Finally, after the third call I was told they had found some make-up. Of course I would not be calling from half way across the world for forgotten make-up. I was missing a linen shirt and a very expensive pair of Cartier eyeglasses. These eyeglasses were in a red Cartier stamped case. The day I talked to Monica (the General Manager), she got rather offended that I had even dared to suggest that the make-up was not the only part of my missing things. She said Alex would call me back. No luck.

Disappointing

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Booked this hotel because they had a pool and it is summer after all. We wanted to use the pool and we were told it doesn't open till 5pm to sunset. If I want to use a pool I want to use it during the day time not in the evening. ( very disappointed). The HOT breakfast was a total disappointment, far from hot, more like lukewarm or cold. When you advertise HOT BREAKFAST it should be HOT. The next day we came back from site seeing , we went to take showers and there weren't enough towels, they took the dirty ones and didn't replace them. I had to go to the front desk to ask for them. Would not recommend,

Pros: Nice location
Cons: Can't think of anything at the moment.
Location: The location was great for me; only 45 - 60 minutes from downtown New York and 30 minutes from where my family reunion would be at FDR park.
Loved the amenities, hot chocolate and coffee available at all times; yummy breakfast every morning. I found the staff very willing to help if a problem occurred, especially on our arrival when the room keys were stuck. The room was comfortable and peaceful.

Dissappointing Stay.

Posted Jun 24, 2016 on Hotels
When we checked in we asked if our room could be changed and because we had gotten the room through Expedia it was not possible to have it changed and the desk person had a slight attitude. We were not told ahead of time that there were different conditions concerning the 3rd party. There was not extra toilet paper, no hair dryer, micro wave or fridge and the beds were not very comfortable. We were right next to the road and there was traffic noise all night. We did not enjoy our stay and were not offered any compensation.

The pool was under construction which would have been nice to know beforehand. The hotel is on a very steep hill so parking is weird. You either have to walk up and down the hill or a bunch of stairs depending on which lot you find a space. The bathroom sink didn't have cold water and the stopper got stuck so it filled up with used water. Overall it was fine hotel and would probably stay here again since it was the only option in the area.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for your recent stay at our property! I appreciate your feedback and do apologize for the inconvenience of our current renovations of our pool area. We are looking to get our pool up and running by the end of July. The location of our hotel is very unique being on a hill which could be tricky for some of our guests. When you return to our property, we are more than happy to assist with luggage to alleviate stress when walking up/down our stairs/hill. I do also want to apologize for the sink stopper getting stuck. I hope that when you return your visit is better and our pool is open for your enjoyment!
