After attempts to contact the property about our awful stay we have yet to receive a refund. The ac was broken , a lovely maintenance person came to fix it, but it wasn’t really fixed. We had an uncomfortable, unpleasant stay. The outdoor bar area where we spent time because it was stifling in our room, was filthy. The wing we were in was unbearably hot in the hallways. Upon checking out in the morning, the front staff person was on her phone & barely looked up. We didn’t bother to lodge a complaint with her because she was completely uninterested in her job. Following up again soon to get our refund.

Very disappointed. The building we were assigned did not look anything like the photos provided, I think very few people stay in castle/mansion. This place is more like a college campus, and is very confusing. All of these non-photo buildings are very dated and can you a good cleaning. Staff also was not great, wasted an hour of my time due to miscommunication. Would not recommend staying here

The property is gorgeous and very comfortable. There were many events taking place our weekend (weddings, baby showers, etc.) so the hotel was busy! The reviews we had read were mixed, so we approached with trepidation. All in all, we would stay again. Yes, the facilities are a bit outdated, but it is an older hotel with a lot of charm and clean. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, despite all that was going on while we were there.

Beautiful grounds. As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms and common spaces are a bit worn and outdated. Call the hotel in advance to discuss pet policies if traveling with a dog so you aren’t surprised by their policies.

Old world charm of the hotel and property. Pool area was small with not enough seating but had a great time. Maybe stay open until sundown when the property is not hosting a wedding. Goosefeather's has an amazing staff & food but a small bar area. Wish the property would open up the Cellar 49 restaurant or consider utilizing the space as another option for the hotel guest to go for a casual diner and cocktails.

My wife and I live about 20 minutes away from this hotel and booked this as staycation. The pool was the primary reason to book this trip. This property’s grounds are beautiful and has a lot of history. Goosefeather restaurant is amazing. Here are some of the things that caused the 3 star review: I think there is a lot of potential for this property if they fixed these items. 1. Breakfast was pretty bad. Eggs were dry. I understand that it’s buffet style. However, it could still be much better. I travel often and there are many other buffet style breakfasts that are decent. 2. There is no food on the property throughout the day. It’s only breakfast and dinner(goosefeather). We spent 3 days at the pool and had to order Uber eats. It’s a disruption to the pool day when you have to get out of the pool and walk to the front of the hotel for your food. To top it off, the rule is no outside food at the pool. Nobody paid attention to this rule. They could make so much money and attract more people if they offered food. 3. Something was wrong with my keycard reader and I could not get into my room without someone from the front desk letting me in each time. This started to happen on my last day so I didn’t ask them to give me a different room. This was annoying as you could imagine.

Very nice hotel and the staff was great. If walking isn’t for you, this hotel is not for you, it’s huge and room was very far and didn’t know there was an elevator until after we went down 3 flights of stairs with suitcases but even with elevator you had to go in and put several times to get to the parking lot
