Love the Coolidge. The staff is always so friendly and helpful in the coffee shop next door that is connected to the hotel opens very early! The Coolidge is a real historical landmark and feels like a throwback to another time… And in a good way! Great restaurants close by and such a wonderful area to spend a weekend

One night stay

Posted Sep 17, 2017
Pros: Easy access, not too pricey
Cons: Open the restaurant at 7 as advertised
Location: Close to Hanvover were my son had an admission test
Very large hotel in a very small area, close to the rail road so can be noisy at night. close to hanover and easy access by the highway 89 or 91. Its pretty old but the room was clean and comfortable, good wifi We had to leave early but the restaurant wasn't open at 7am as advertised so we had to check out before breakfast Ok for a one night stay

historic building, quaint town

Posted Sep 13, 2017
The hotel is in a historic building. The rooms are very dated but that's part of the charm. Rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The town is quaint with galleries and antique shops. I'd recommend a cafe a few doors down called Tuckershop. Mix of Turkish, mederetanian and american fare. Its a great stopping point if you're driving to Boston.

Hi Brian--thanks for your review! Yes, WRJ is a truly fun, eclectic town which is undergoing a real renaissance. Like all downtowns, businesses can come and go as they work to hit their stride. We are fortunate to have some truly outstanding shops, stores, and restaurants here within very easy walking distance, and since success breeds success, we are hopeful that the one or two empty spaces will soon be occupied by businesses who compliment our historic Hotel and downtown. Thanks so much for staying with us!

Stay Away!!!

Posted Jul 30, 2017
Pros: None.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Nothing.
I understand that it is a old hotel. However, the hotel fails in the most basic level I do not know where to start, but here is the short list of problems. I hope my comments serve as a warning sign for anyone thinking of booking this hotel. * I noticed right after checking into the room, that there is mold on the top of the bath tub area. When I informed front reception area, she did not seem to be too alarmed. They did not even bother to send anyone to inspect the area for our entire 2 nights stay. * There is no vent in the bathroom. You can imagine the problem associated with it. * All the bathroom fixtures are old and have rust. * There are water stains on the bathtub and on the washing basin from constant water dripping. * The bed was so small that I could hardly fit myself, and the blankets must have been from 1980's. * They have all the telephone lines, tv cable lines, and the internet cables stapled and exposed to the wall. * The floor was so uneven due to settlement of the building over long time that my son was keep asking me whether it was safe. I am sure they inspected, but it does not feel comfortable walking around it. * They do not have a closet space to hang your dress shirts or coats. They just have three hooks on the wall with plastic coat hangers. * There is no blackout curtains. You can imagine the problem in the morning. I cannot go on because of the space limitation, but I am assuming you get the picture. Stay away.

Dear J, I hardly know where to begin to respond to your list. So many of the things you cite are simply inaccurate or just not true. I do wish that you had made your extreme displeasure known to us, as I would have been more than happy to find a local chain hotel that would have been to your liking. It is most unfortunate that you didn't enjoy your experience in our historic Hotel. I wish you a more satisfactory experience in your future travels.

This is an old, charming building. The staff was very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Rooms are simple, don't expect modern amenities.
