Beautiful property, but the staff was non-existent

The property is beautiful and peaceful and the cabin was clean and comfortable.
Where we were disappointed was with the staff, or lack of, I should say. When we arrived to check into the lodge, there was no staff present. Our key was taped to the office door with a note. That was fine with us (we're pretty easy going people), except that there was a mixup with the bookings and we found that our cabin had been double booked. We were unable to reach any staff by phoning the contact number left on the office door so the situation wasn't resolved until the next morning. The next morning the girl who worked there had us bring our luggage down to the office. She said that once the new cabin was clean that she would move it into the new cabin for us. But I think she forgot, because when we arrived back at the lodge, our luggage was locked in the office, with absolutely no staff around and again we were unable to contact anyone using the phone number provided. Finally we got desperate and my husband had to jimmy a back door to the office to get our luggage out so that we could have our things.... We never saw another staff member the entire time we were there and we stayed for 3 nights
My husband and I are pretty easy going people but found it a little strange that there was never anyone around... Hopefully our experience was an isolated one, because otherwise the place was beautiful!
