We loved this lodge. We stayed for a week. The breakfast every morning was perfect for our family of 4 - everyone could find something they liked. We have a 14 yr old and 11 yr old and they really had a great time. We visited Glacier Park everyday. It was a beautiful drive from the lodge.

Mountain View Quite Lodging

Posted Aug 3, 2017
Pros: Setting and rustic classy feel. Meals were good
Location: Glazier National Park, Golf courses, and restaurants were all very good
Very Reasonably priced lodging in a beautiful setting. Staff was extremely helpful and had great suggestions on all activities in the area.

Beautiful lodge - matches the surroundings

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Pros: Everything - from the beauty of the lodge itself as we arrived through the friendliness of the staff as we checked out.
Cons: Seriously? Nothing!
Location: Whitefish as a town is wonderful with great stores and restaurants. Nothing in the world can compare to the beauty of Glacier National Park!!
To say fabulous extends from start to finish. The location: Kandahar Lodge- heaven! Each staff member we encountered was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The beautiful loft room we stayed in made returns home after a busy day of hiking better than coming to our own home. The views out the windows and the garden areas as you entered the back of the hotel and walked between buildings were breathtaking. The cozy, yummy, and filling breakfasts were missed as we continued on our journey to other locations. This truly was the best location we have ever stayed and the lodge added to my family feeling this was our best vacation!! Hope to visit and stay again for years to come. We enjoyed our time in the summer and can't wait to see Kandahar in the winter!

Nice, small ski-lodge

Posted Jul 30, 2017
Overall, a comfortable and clean hotel, with friendly staff. Why 3* then? Amenities and service. 2 issues, which are big, IMO. First, Wi-Fi. Great in the lounge, but very patchy - almost unworkable - in rooms. Repeated complaints to staff didn't yield results as no IT in house, but lives in another city. Second, the shower. Maintenance came right away on complaint they the showerhead is faulty - it was blocked. TL;DR, it took 36 hours to get another shower head, which didn't quite solve the problem. Also, no shuttle service. But all in all, it's a nice place to stay. The plus points are that it's near the ski runs and the in house restaurant (Khandahar Cafe) is rated one of the best in Montana.

Thank you, Barry. We have invested in fiberoptic cable to the Lodge for the WIFI so it is disappointing to hear that it did not work well for you. We will look into this. I am sorry to hear that maintenance was not more timely for the shower.

Maybe better in the winter

Posted Jul 26, 2017
Hotel is very pretty in the online picture with snow and nice in the summer with lots of wildflowers planted in front. Parking is limited and you end up in a dusty gravel lot down the hill and across the street. Lobby is nice, ski lodge wise. Rooms can be small, somewhat dated, but adequate. We were less happy with the loud window air conditioners. Had a loft room one night and it was very cramped. Sleeps 6 but there were only two of us. Switched to a standard room and it was better but we had trouble sleeping with the AC noise in both. Exercise room, sauna and hot tub were showing their age.

GREAT HOTEL!!!

Posted Jul 13, 2017
The ONLY negative about this is there are no elevators, we had a lot of luggage, but the front desk did offer to help us with our bags. Staff is friendly. Beautiful hotel and surroundings.

Thanks for the high 5! Yes, we really need to figure out how to solve the elevator issue.

There should have been some notice, especially at the ample rate charged, that the room reserved required walking up three stories, and that the second bed in the room required climbing up another story on a steep ladder-like staircase. One person was available to assist two of us carrying up luggage upon arrival. No one was available to assist upon departure. The person manning the hotel desk refused to arrange for a modification of a reservation at the hotel restaurant, and simply told me to phone the restaurant myself. When asked for the number, they handed me a brochure.

Yes, it is difficult to communicate those things to people reserving through third party sites. I have made sure the information is on our Expedia listing. It is a bit unusual that the on-site Cafe Kandahar is owned by Chef Andy and he does not allow us to be involved in their reservations. Most of us know their phone number by heart to give to our guests.
