Older hotel but updated nice clean and very quiet

My stay was relaxing and the reservations were taken care of easy check in which means alot considering it was a last minute trip due to my Grandmother passing away. Thanks Expedia and Econolodge of whiteville for making my stay stress free.

Move

Pros: Everything
Location: Good eating nearby and shopping.
After packing a truck for a permanent move I was exhausted. My stay was perfect at the Whiteville Econo Lodge. Clean, quiet and friendly.

A hot mess

Upon entering my Non-smoking room, I was slapped in the face with a cloud of stale smoke smell. It looked as if someone had taken their break in the room as there was a butt print on the bed and Mrs. Doubtfire playing on the tv. The room condition, to put it nicely, was well used. Apparently upkeep is not a priority. Despite the worn state, it was fairly clean. The a.c. unit was one step above useless. It took nearly 6 hours of steady running at high cool set at 60 degrees to become bearable. On the morning of check out, we open the curtain to find a large bottle of 'Bed bug kill' sitting on the a.c. unit. When asked, the maintenance man assured me it was different chemicals in that bottle. Apparently he neglected to mention that to the manager who assured me that it was simply a preventative measure. Once she made that declaration, the maintenance man latched on to that idea and started talking about transients and dirty guests. All in all, the staff was nice but I regret my stay.

Dear Valued customer, The AC and TV's are left on in all the rooms for customer's convenience. As preventive maintenance we spray all our rooms with chemicals that treats the rooms for a variety of bugs. Therefore he had a can of the same.
