Close to destination

Posted May 10, 2017
...is all I can say about the Days Inn on Telegraph Avenue in Whittier. Upon arrival, the person at the front desk was not welcoming nor friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day, but working at the front desk, customer service is a priority and though I wasn't expecting a red carpet entrance, she did not once say hello or smile. As I entered my room, it was complete darkness (black-out shades) and I had to keep the door open to find the light switches of the lamps next to the bed. I walked into the bathroom and the toilet seat was stained by a previous user. I was so disgusted by the unsanitary condition and didn't want to even stay there anymore. The shower tub is dirty and the towel rack with the towels hanging on it was all rusty. The bathroom definitely needs an update. The noise level in the morning was loud. I'm not sure whether housekeeping was cleaning the room above me or if the guest was packing to leave, but there were several banging noises, as if someone had dropped a very heavy item onto the ground, a few times. Since the parking is right outside the rooms, conversations should be at a minimum. I wish I can say I would stay here again, even if it's at a convenient location to my destination, but I think I'll pass...

The check in process was looooong, there was only one attendant who had to do EVERYTHING alone, the room was DISGUSTING with hair everywhere, the bath tub was old and stained, and the toilet seat was completely detached until the next day when maintenance came after my 2nd complaint.

Convenient, quiet. Breakfast was simple but ok. Internet was ok in office, but spotty in room. Desk manager printed out my boarding passes. Shower was great. I'll be back.

A Best Buy in My Book

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Pros: Quiet heater and air conditioner with thermostat controls.
Cons: Maybe a few more items rotating for the complementary breakfast, like pancakes, eggs and/or waffles would be nice.
Location: It's Southern California, so plenty of shopping and things to do close by.
Had to find a last minute stay for 2 nights and fortunately my web search found Days Inn of Whittier, actually located in South Whittier, CA. We found this motel to be much more adequate than the low price suggested. Clean, fresh smelling room and a great complimentary breakfast made our stay very comfortable. We took a dip in the refreshingly cool, clean pool and enjoyed the helpful staff during our two night stay. We will check the price and availability here first for our next trip planned this coming July.

Horrible experience

Posted Apr 15, 2017
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: It would be really nice if the hotel staff knew you had children to try and put them all in the same area if possible. When we got back to our room it
We initially drove down south, to attend my son's lacrosse game. After it was over and we went back to the room, the neighbor that we had was so noisy, slamming the door, his kids were jumping on the bed and screaming, and when asked to quiet down he started getting rude. We packed up our stuff and we left. He was going in and out so much, slamming the door, and being loud. So instead of having problems we drove 2 1/2 hours home. We didn't complain to the manager or whoever was on staff, because we were afraid he would try to scratch our car or start causing problems with my husband. He has had two heart surgeries and we try to avoid any kind of confrontation if possible. We can check out or anything, we left our key on the table inside the room. My husband took a shower in that room we got ready and left for the game, and that was all that we did in that room. So we paid $83 for my husband to take a shower.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry about the noise by the guest that stayed next to you. In this situation it would have being best to contact the front desk so we can take care of this issue. Our staff is trained to handle this kind of situations when they arise. Again our apologies for the inconvenience that you experienced.
