Extremely dirtyPosted Oct 21, 2017 on Hotels
There was a tangle of spiders' webs and dead flies in the venetian blinds in the breakfast room. Right beside the food table. It had obviously not been cleaned for months. I told the staff about this and it was cleaned. There are lots of spiders' webs on the window ledge in the room and a dead spider. I told them about this too but it was NOT cleaned. A large section of one curtain has fallen down from the rail. The net curtains are very dirty. The windows are very dirty. The floor was dirty round the back of the toilet. There is no towel rail in the bathroom so nowhere to hang towels. There are only 2 sockets so the kettle is plugged into an extension lead beside the bed and the kettle sits on the bedside cabinet, the cups etc are at the other side of the room. I don't think boiling water should be right next to the bed. The bed linen, towels, bath and sink were clean, but the grate in the sink is missing so things could drop down it. The skirting boards are all dirty. It seems as it nobody has stayed in the room for months, and it has not been cleaned for months. Frankly it was disgusting. We should have complained more but we rarely saw the staff, and never saw any cleaners. We were only there for 2 nights, thank goodness. I don't know what the other rooms were like, we were in room 3. The whole hotel is very run down and in desperate need of a renovation. I took some photos with my mobile as I could not believe what I saw.

Comfortable old building in need of tlc.Posted Aug 23, 2017
This is an old hotel in need of some updating. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed. Our car was parked in the street outside right by the door. The proprietor was most helpful and booked a restaurant in Wick for our evening meal. This was 10 mins walk. WiFi was good and we had a good choice for breakfast. It's not the Hilton but it was sensibly priced and delivered what was expected.

Superb relaxPosted Aug 9, 2017 on Hotels
Great receptionist, VERY comfortable, soft bed, nice other guests, tasty, quality breakfast, pleasant atmosphere, quiet, spacious, luxury room for decent price. The only funny thing to add is that the room probably hasn't been hovered for a while, as I've found money underneath the desk (not even the bed), hmm;)
