A Beach Vacation with All the Comforts of Home

Posted Aug 26, 2017
Pros: We liked the spaciousness and comfort of the rooms. They are all suites, with kitchen, bathroom and luggage room, and then back bedroom with balcony.
Cons: The free breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 really wasn't much. We had our own breakfast in our room. They only served coffee/tea and sweets - sticky buns
Location: Many restaurants serving traditional American meals are nearby You can also always eat pizza or hamburgers or ice cream on the boardwalk.
Every summer we try to take a week off and stay at a beach resort. This year and last year we stayed at the Isle of Palms Motel. The people who work there are nice and friendly. Even though the motel was very crowded, we had no trouble with parking our car. We brought so much luggage including computers and such that we had to make 3 trips with the giant luggage rack up the elevator. Our room was comfortable and we had a kitchenette. We had a coffee-maker and a microwave and a refrigerator, but we didn't have a stove or oven. But that was fine. The air conditioning kept us nice and cool, even all the way back in the bedroom. The location is great - we were just a block away from the boardwalk. But beware because the Wildwood beach is so wide, it takes half an hour to walk from boardwalk to the edge of the sea. There are beach taxis however. The sea was warm. We don't swim, but we wade along the shore. The beach is so calming. And then the boardwalk is a fun distraction. I love riding the Giant Ferris Wheel. We rode it almost every night. I wish they would fix it because they are loading so few people on it now, something must be wrong with its engines.

Close to the beach but dirty!

Posted Aug 17, 2017 on Orbitz
I watched the housekeeper walk by our hotel room with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. The beds were pretty comfy & the walk to the boardwalk & beach is close but the room was gross. It's all tile flooring throughout the room so you can see every hair, dirt, who knows what else all over. The bathroom had hair left in it from prior visitors.

Family getaway!

Hotel was not as bad as some of the reviews. rooms are big, air conditioner worked great. The rooms are outdated and could use new bathrooms and better cleaning around the baseboards! Pool was great! enjoyed our stay!

Both the sink and tub were clogged. Told manager took 2 days for maintenance to "find our room". Place is very old. I won't go back.

staff was pleasant, pool was clean, grills were convenient, kept blowing a fuse in the room... other than that decent stay.

1 A/C for 2 large rooms, not cool enough, balcony door stuck & had no lock;Microwave didn't reach outlet, not enough Elec.outlets -4cell phones &2tablets to charge,no outlets not in use. 2 TV's only one worked. Jacked up the price by $160 at check in,terribly rude front desk. Guest at the pool where ignorant, loud & assaultive to my family, rude comments, staring.
