Relaxing secluded resort

Overall the experience was enjoyable. The resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. The pool and beach are sublime and a great spot to relax after a day exploring the island. Some things to keep in mind 1) Service overall was okay. We stayed at Papagayo in 2015 and the difference was clear. The front desk associates were very cut and dry and not so welcoming. The bar staff near the pool and beach were very kind and excellent though. So were the cleaning staff. The staff at the hotel’s restaurant gave us mixed feelings. Some were nice, some were not especially serviable. 2) Facilities and Amenities. The hotel is beautiful and truly picturesque. It was clean and for the most part well maintained. I did notice a bit of litter early one morning near the pavillion but i think was related to a party held the previous night so the fault is mainly with the guests. The pool was very clear and clean. The beach was very well maintained! The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The cleaning staff did an excellent job! My only issue was that the toilet had a slight smell, likely from plumbing issue than anything else. The fitness center was very well equipped. Also, excellent grounds if you’re a runner. However our amenities stopped there. It was a bum we had to pay for wifi unlike Papagayo. Also not many eating options, not to mention overpriced! 4) The hotel is in a secluded spot which means car rental is a must.

Beautiful surroundings

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Room cleaning can certainly improve, but the staff were very nice, maybe offer them some sort of incentive to inspire them.
Lovely hotel, very quiet. Lots of activities, golf, kayaking, diving, and much more right on the estate.

Remote resort located on private lagoon beach

Pros: Specious clean rooms with marble floors, marble bath-shower combination, modern furniture with comfortable bedding, and hint of Caribbean style decor.
Cons: Lobby lacking bar, or at least coffee station as relaxing atmosphere, chill-out music & reclining chairs invite to spend more time overlooking the sea
Location: Hotel features incredibly beautiful private lagoon beach with powdery white sand and natural shade created by tropical vegetation.
Property remotely saturated in a quite gated community among three other properties and nestled between Old Quarry Golf Course and Spanish Bay. Vehicle is necessary to get around the island, or guided tours can be arrange through hotel reception. From the resort to Willemstad with must see Otrobanda and Punda on the other side of Queen Emma pontoon bridge is approximately 30 minutes drive, Jan Thiel Beach offering few bars, restaurants, snorkeling sites and scenic views is approximately 15 minutes drive, Mambo Beach with its famous Lions Dive Resort, several bars and shops is half an hour drive from Santa Barbara and Shete Boka National Park with natural bridge, underground caves, and Playa Kalki is an hour drive by the car.

Beautiful resort!

Absolutely beautiful resort with beautiful scenery everywhere you go! The private beach was amazing! Very friendly and fast service, great food, and amazing golf! The only complaint we had was about the cleanliness of our room (sheets hadn’t been changed for entire stay of 6 days, towels had a funny odor, floors were dirty, etc.) otherwise this was the perfect vacation spot and we can’t wait to go back!

Hidden jewel

Found this place by elimination, not easy to find when you have all the DR and Mexico places offering you all inclusive stuff at all times. This is not all-inclusive but it was actually cheaper at the end. Yes, get ready to spend 1k approx per week in meals for a family of 4, nevertheless the food was great ! Service by the pool great. Facilities are just immaculate, very friendly people and lots of activities for you and/or your kids. This is a kid friendly place, yet there was no screaming babies everywhere. We did not use the day care activity center but they do have arts and crafts, feed the iguanas things for them . Room cleanliness is outstanding !!!! They come 2 to 3 times a day to clean ! And they leave your room like you were never there or better, we actually forgot to lock the safe once and nothing was lost, the beds are very comfortable and the put everything in order very quick , definitively a plus for me, can't stand hard beds . Negative: some of the staff at the front desk ( some, not all) seem not to care, ask for info and they just tell you "I don't know " not the " let me find out for you" that at least makes you feel better, in the restaurants the same, the food was amazing ! Good job Chefs! But service can vary from this lady Sarai at the Italian place that made our visit a dream to some other people who made you wait 20 mins for an orange juice . They need to work on that. As well as crowd control by the pool when a conference group shows up.

Great, Relaxing Vacation!

This hotel was like a dream! The premises are big,and overall it's a beautiful, quiet, secluded private property. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool area was gorgeous! The only thing I would change is having more dining options in the resort, and perhaps some nighttime entertainment (although they may have on the weekends, I'm not sure, we stayed on weekdays). Just a small tid-bit of advice, it's pretty far from everything and renting a car might be your best option so the cab fees don't rack up. On a positive note though, staying there felt like you are on your own secluded luxurious island, which is ideal for quiet times and relaxation, and just what I was looking for. Highly recommend!
