Colonial Houses

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Total redo.
Location: Duke of Gloucester St.
Room very disappointing: Must have been the runt of the litter. The room smelled of old smoke, the toilet ran and the coffee machine didn't work, and the bed was a small double, not a queen as advertised.

Sleeping in Colonial Williamsburg

Posted Dec 5, 2013
Pros: We loved the entire experience!
Cons: Nothing
Location: See above
How glorious to sleep in a colonial home right on Duke of Gloucester Street! Our room was appropriately decorated with candles twinkling in the windows, Colonial Williamsburg toiletries, and authentic shrub glasses as water glasses. Parking was convenient and the check-in process was smooth. Oh, and to get up in the middle of the night and look out at all the buildings in the village -- unforgettable!

We stayed Labor Day weekend. The Houses are so great to stay in. You will go back in time…with AC. I cannot express in words my appreciation to the entire staff for the consideration and professionalism during our whole weekend. Katharyn at the front desk is amazing and greeted us with such kindness and energy plus ensured we were able to get a wonderful Colonial House. We often sat at the bar (great bar staff and food as well) in the hotel and every time we passed by she was amazing in remembering us, smiling and asking if everything was okay. Lauren and the entire Concierge Staff was so caring and friendly with helping us coordinate our Ghost Tour. We stopped in a few times and she too always greeted us with a warm smile. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the staff.

Colonial Homes in Williamsburg, VA

Posted Jun 15, 2012
We stayed in the Brick House Tavern located on Duke of Gloucester Street. It was one of the Colonial Houses under the direction of The Williamsburg Inn. The room was small, but comfortable, with a private bath. It was on the main street of Colonial Williamsburg - perfectly located. There was lots of activity during the day, but it was extremely quiet at night.
