Lost our reservation and lots of construction

I'm incredibly disappointed with this hotel and the service we received. We went to the Magruder for a dance conference, so our choice in hotel wasn't very much of a choice. We reserved the room months in advance, but showed up and our reservation had been lost. The staff were fairly useless in finding it and I'm still trying to work out all the problems with that. The reservation was confirmed and paid for, it was lost on either your or their end. In addition, the actual hotel was completely torn up and under construction. We had to walk entirely from one end to the other to do anything. There wasn't food available and because we had booked through a 3rd party we didn't get a voucher for breakfast and had to spend even more money on it. The carpets were gross, there were whole sections that were blocked off due to construction, and we were just generally disappointed. The rooms were clean and average sized, but the cons definitely outweighed the pros.
