Excellent Location and Value

The Governor's Inn is a two star, older facility, but it's cleanliness, courteous staff, and excellent location make it far better than any two star facility I have patronized. I highly recommend it for families and those on a budget.

Simple, clean, and inexpensive

Motel style but clean and well kept. Great for a place to stay while at Busch Gardens and other area attractions without breaking the bank.

Good Motel

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: Good location for Williamsburg
Cons: We didn't realise that if the Motel and Williamsburg entry are booked together you get a discount
A good standard Motel room the bonus was that we had not realised that a good breakfast was included

Great Choice

Posted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: Proximity to Historic Area. 15 minute easy walk. Made driving unnecessary.
Cons: Chairs on the balconies. Shame not to be able to sit and enjoy view.
Location: Historic Triangle close enough to do all.
Governor's Inn was perfect for our last minute get-away. With the location being just a stone's throw from the Historic Area, clean accommodations, efficient staff, and a quick continental breakfast, we will look no further on future stays. The discount afforded to guests for the various performances was a pleasant surprise and a great perk.

Convenient to everything

Good experience. Hotel could stand some updating. WiFi not consistent. Having telecom workman use the pool after 5 created a rowdy environment not ideal for the kids using the shallow end.

Underwhelming hotel near historic Williamsburg

Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: The icemaker
Cons: Housekeeping needs to be more timely, rooms needs to be more clean and ready for check in and cleaned at a regular time. Breakfast needs to improve
Location: Merchants Square and Colonial Williamsburg is a 5 min walk away. Busch Gardens is a 14 min drive, Williamsburg Winery about a 14 min drive.
I will start by saying the only good thing about this hotel is that is is a walk away from Merchant Square/Colonial Williamsburg, that is the good. Upon entering the hotel, the staff at the front desk was friendly, however the room left a lot to be desired. The bathroom had water damage on the ceiling, which is not something you want to see in a hotel. The housekeeping staff was very slow to clean the rooms. My girlfriend and I left at 9:30am to spend the day at Busch Gardens and on both occasions upon our return, the room was not tended two and the room was not clean. The second time, we literally walked in the door and housekeeping knocked to clean the room. We JUST WALKED IN the door and wanted to shower and clean up. How can you come knocking at 4:30pm to ask if you can tend to the room. Shouldn't that have been done between 9:30am and 4pm when we were gone. Also, breakfast is between 7:30a and 10am, it is not the best, just some bagels, muffins, boiled eggs. This is not a place for more than a day. I would highly recommend another location for a weekend trip, but if you just stop through a place to stay, I guess this place is OK. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE AGAIN. Aside from the walking proximity, nothing else is good about this place. Also, the AC would go off constantly in the middle of the night. It is the summer, at night it is 80 degrees if you are lucky, an AC unit shouldn't just turn off or be controlled by management, that is ridiculous.

Pros: I would stay there again- great value for the money
Cons: Beds were a little uncomfortable
Location: Close to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA
Overall a good experience. The only negative thing I would say is the beds are uncomfortable..
