Room

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Close to Colonial area, walking distance.
Cons: Closer detail to edges and corners of the room, including bathroom.
Location: Colonial Williamsburg is in walking distance.
We had been gone from 9 AM until about 3:45 PM, our room still hadn't been cleaned. They finally came about 4 PM we had to leave for another 20 minutes. His room cleaning was so/so. The door lock was very hard to open even from the inside. The door latch needed to be pushed in by hand to get it to close from outside of room.

Surprised this is a colonial williamsburg hotel

Front desk staff was fabulous when we checked it and continental breakfast was ok. But thats where it stops..,room was dirty, prior tenants hair still on bathroom wall, blankets torn throughout, other scary sightings regarding cleanliness.

Four blocks to downtown Williamsburg

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Need to update the facility overall and especially the dining room area needs to be bigger.
Location: About 4 blocks to downtown historical Williamsburg and the edge of William & Mary. If going to W&M need to drive and park elsewhere. Convenient!
Location is a big plus. Price/value was ok. Room was spartan, but clean and reasonable considering the price. Strong water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water. Staff was very nice. Would probably stay there again. Overall condition of the facility is very used, but as clean as it can be made. Owners need to invest some of the profit into enhanced breakfast facility. Breakfast was ok, but crowded due to busy weekend for move-in at William & Mary. Had an upstairs with additional tables and chairs, and it could have been setup with food too to offset the crowded conditions downstairs in the main dining room.

Pros: Location to everything-within walking distance to main village , 10 - 15 minutes to outlets; breakfast was nice, but crowded
Cons: Update bathrooms; more front desk staff- I waited almost 20 minutes to check out, but everyone was pleasant; parking was around the corner from room
Easy to find, close to colonial area, but is " aged" motel; everyone very pleasant, but not enough staff at front desk

We Recommend this Hotel

Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Toasters needs to be fixed or replaced. Would have been nice if the upstairs dinning area had breakfast items.
Location: Perfect location! 4 miles from Bush Gardens. Easy to find.
Within three blocks of Colonial Williamsburg. Left our car safe at hotel and walked. Amazing staff! Nice breakfast. Kids Loved the pool. Rooms were clean and well maintained. For what we paid we got A Lot of bang for our buck.

Governor's Inn

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Close location to colonial Williamsburg, with discounted tickets
Cons: Flexibility of staff
I initially reserved two nights and asked them at check in to change to one night and they stated that they were unable to change the reservation to one night. I need up paying for two nights and only staying one night. The bed was comfortable and the location was close to Colonial Williamsburg. They also did tell me at check in that if. I took our reservation card to the Colonial Williamsburg visitor center (only about a four block walk) that. I would get a discount.

The room was okay - nothing special. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. For the price, would come back again.

Fine accommodations, great staff

Posted Aug 15, 2015
This hotel was fine. It actually looks like a three-story motel, with standard unsurprising rooms. The staff were great; they answered all questions quickly and knowledgeably, and they were generous. The breakfast was more than adequate. At first it looked like there weren't enough tables for everyone, but as soon as someone needed a table, someone else got up. Even though we didn't hang out there, because the project of the weekend was to move our daughter into her new apartment, we enjoyed our stay at Governor's Inn.
