Pros: I really like the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendly staff.
Cons: Only thing I would add is more street lights on the property.
Location: Dining and shopping are close by.
Excellent overnight getaway stay. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Mixed Review

Posted Dec 26, 2016
One note at the start: this hotel charges a resort fee separate from the reservation fee paid on Expedia. If Expedia advised us of that at the time of reservation, it was not obvious. You may want to call the resort for information about that fee. Also, be advised that this is a timeshare hotel. You can book & stay as if this is a hotel, but they will invite you to attend an information session about the timeshare option. We had to say no a few times before they let it go. If you're looking for a hotel that's close to colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens, this is about 15 minutes away. Other hotels are closer. That said, the resort property is nice. We did not take advantage of it all, but we did play mini golf and enjoyed the course very much. In fact, I would call that the highlight of our experience. The condition of our two-bedroom condo did not warrant the term "resort," however. The furniture is in rather desperate need of being replaced. The walls have been repainted in such a way that the patchwork application of the new coat is obvious. The condo was spacious and clean but not at all luxurious as one might expect from a resort. If I were returning to Williamsburg, I would not choose to stay here again.

Wonderful experience

Beautiful in every way. Five-minute check in, thank you Alex. Our concierge, Lexi was attentive and super sweet. Shout out to Sylvia for all her help and recommendations. We reserved a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit but were upgraded to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath! The unit was nothing short of a lovely apartment. Living room area with flat screen, electric fireplace, and a desk. French doors lead to the deck. Dining area with seating for 6. Full sized kitchen with granite countertops. Huge master suite...really, a very large room, and a large master bath, double vanities in granite. Lovely second bedroom, and second bath...again with granite. Peaceful, quiet, comfortable, spacious. Just wonderful.

We do apologize for your experience with parking. When the resort is at max occupancy, parking can be a stressed. Designated parking areas are available throughout the resort for guests staying on property.Thank you for understanding.

Diamond Resort - Historic Powatan Resort

Posted Dec 23, 2016
The hotel/apartment suite was spacious, comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. Williamsburg has much to offer for the vacation traveler. The hotel staff at check-in were friendly. The overall experience was considerably marred, however, by virtue of the sales pitch which we were persuaded (regrettably, in hindsight) to sign up for in exchange for a complimentary stay at a future date. We went into the two-hour sales presentation with an open mind, but when we determined after listening to the presentation that we were not interested in joining the membership plan, the sales staff became sullen and discourteous, and ended up keeping us forty-five minutes over the agreed time limit to hear the presentation, wait for successive managers to come and try to apply more sales pressure, etc., before finally keeping their end of the bargain and providing the promised compensatory incentives. I would recommend the hotel itself as a place to stay, but strongly counsel against signing up for anything else. In retrospect the whole hotel operation seemed to function essentially as a front for the larger corporate sales machine which with every transaction seemed designed to lure us into purchasing a very expensive and highly questionable membership scheme.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. It is a disappointment to see that you were less than pleased with your recent experience at our resort due to our sales offer. We are always appreciative of our guests’ comments and concerns as it certainly helps us to identify areas of improvement. The experience that you have shared with us will certainly be forwarded to our resort and corporate management; we want to make sure that concerns such as those that you have shared with us are addressed promptly for the sake of our future guests and to improve any future stays that you may have with us.

Clean and update rooms

Posted Dec 21, 2016
Pros: Rooms, decorated for the holidays.
Location: About 20 minutes from Busch Gardens. Good location.
Great rooms with updated kitchen. Having a "sit in" area upstairs was handy as an extra bedroom for the kids. Would come again during the warmer weather to take advantage of the amenities.

We loved the King sized beds -- apparently, all have been upgraded to king size beds, though expedia doesn'y have that reflecting in the descriptions (says queen)
