Disgusting and dirty

Posted May 4, 2017 on Hotels
The sheets had blood stains and burns holes, the fridge door didn't close and the front desk didn't seem to care. I used my overnight bag to keep it shut. The tv remote didn't work and again the front desk didn't want to bother until 45 minutes passed and I called back and she said the maintenance man wasn't back that I could come pick up a new one. There was a huge spider in the bathroom and the outside hotel was falling apart. The stairs to the upstairs was condemned and hazardous. Overall just gross!!!

The "feel dirty" inn

Posted Apr 28, 2017 on Hotels
Room was not very clean. Sheets and comforter did not seem clean, did not smell clean. Felt like we needed to shower after sleeping on the bed. Tub needed repair. Booked room for four, but was only provided two bath towels. Front desk clerk was dismissive of complaints. I understand it's a budget hotel, but at least try seem like you care about your guests. I will never again stay at Travelodge Inn & Suites Historic Area, or any other Travelodge in the future.

Great value, also right next to a Cracker Barrel, which was great for breakfast!

Pros: Not one thing
Cons: Everything from the cleanliness of the rooms to the incompetent staff
Location: Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown
They advertise a standard room with two queen beds, but they are double...we measured, they are 54" and a queen is 60". Queen beds are very important to me and my husband as we are larger people, my husband being 300 lbs and 6'8". We each had to share the bed with a child just so we were able to turn over in our sleep. We spoke with them on several occasions, they insisted it as a queen and offered to let us check another room...yep, that room had double beds also. Then, when I spoke with the manager about it, she was rude and condescending. After denying the fact that the room had double beds, she then changed her tune and said that we reserved double beds. After I got my reservation out and showed her otherwise, she told me she knew they were double beds, then told me "ma'am, these rooms are so cheap, you got what you paid for"...truth is, yes, the room was cheap, but I didn't expect a nasty dive hole in the wall. Not only this, the staff came into our room and did not clean it or replace towels as they claim they do every day. They came in, pulled the curtains back, left all of the dirty towels, left no clean towels, and left the curtains pulled back and all of the inside lights on. We were gone all day with our belongings exposed to EVERYONE. The rooms were very dirty, and we had dried blood on our bathroom door. Just say no. You may be wanting to spend less on a room, but don't do it here. It isn't worth it. JUST SAY NO!!!
