Charming and Very Comfortable Hotel

Posted Sep 26, 2016
Pros: Room and public areas were beautiful and comfortable and the location was excellent.
This was our second stay at the Williamsburg Lodge in the past few months. It is a great balance between the charm of Colonial Williamsburg and all the modern comforts. The room was great--spacious, clean and nicely decorated with both a four poster bed and a lovely wide screen TV. The Sweet Tea & Barley lounge was a great place to hear live music and have a nightcap. Being able to walk right to and through the Colonial Williamsburg area was also a plus. I am sure we will be back when we are visiting Williamsburg.

Very pleased with my stay at the Lodge. Helpful and friendly staff, rooms were quite nicely appointed and comfortable, and easy walking distance to the many sites and activities at Colonial Williamsburg. Would definitely stay here again.

Would not stay again

Posted Sep 18, 2016
The Expedia email said that check in was at 3:00 but when we arrived, the hotel said their check in was at 4:00 - we would have stayed elsewhere if we had known that. My husband had worked night shift the night before and then also had to work early that morning so the plan was for him to rest before our 6:00 event but we couldn't check in. Check in was very busy and very confusing. The floorboards are very, very noisy - it is not possible to even tiptoe around the room without making a lot of noise - we were also in the room next to the ice vending machine so even more noisy.

Wonderful stay at Williamsburg Lodge

Posted Aug 31, 2016
We had a lovely time at the Williamsburg Lodge! The doormen were attentive and helpful. The lobby is gorgeous and inviting. Our room was very nice - it had a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows which were a nice touch. The pillows were a little small, but they were comfortable, as was the bed. The bathroom felt a bit dated - old tiling and fixtures - but everything worked properly. We had breakfast at Traditions and it was delicious and filling. We had dinner at Sweet Tea & Barley - wonderful ambiance, excellent wait staff and the food and drinks were delicious. The live music was a nice touch! We also spent a morning at the spa getting couples massages (wonderful!) and lunch at their grill and by the pool. We had a great time and hope to return.

Very nice hotel within short walk of Williamsburg

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Pros: It is within walking distance of all Colonial Williamsburg attractions.
Cons: n/a
The hotel was a bargain. It is basically across the street from Colonial Williamsburg so everything is just a short walk. The room was nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and especially helpful in returning an item I left behind when I checked out. Breakfast is very expensive but they do have an option for coffee and danish, etc. in the lobby. I would definitely stay there again.

Gorgeous Shining Like Hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2016
Everything just as expected. Old time feel and plenty of relaxation. Only part upsetting was they said all rooms had a fridge when I called before booking and we did not have one. Front desk just said, "Oh, Sorry..." Well we ended up using the A/C to cool our drinks. All in all not bad. Either way it was a great hotel and I would stay there again. The place was beautiful, arriving at 2 am the lodge had eerie music playing and was massive inside with no one around and felt like a scene right out the Shining, long hallways and it looked abandoned. pretty cool :)
