Best in Willows

Posted Jul 26, 2017
I have been visiting Willows for many years now for Thunder hill track events. It is quite nice and meets the typical Holiday Inn standards. The only real downside is the fact that it is close to the highway so there is some noise from that but in general, it is quite nice for the area.

Front desk staff needs training

Posted Jul 12, 2017
Cons: Staff training
I booked this hotel for my wife and niece that were driving from Idaho to California. They had been on the road for 12 hours and we're ready for a shower and a good nights rest. When they went to check in they were told there was not a reservation. They contacted me and I let the person know that I had paid for the hotel in full and sent my wife the link to the Expedia Transaction to show the Front Desk Staff. The person would not accept the receipt as proof and told me I needed to call Expedia. I asked if she could call and she said no. I called Expedia and they immediately sent the hotel a fax of the transaction and called the hotel. It turned out the hotels link to Expedia was down which the staff had forgot to mention. The hotel would not honor the reservation with the fax and the phone call from Expedia. After a 1/2 hour Expedia canceled the hotel reservation for us and refunded our payment. My wife then purchased a room for the evening. She said other then the front desk experience the hotel was very nice, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast even had Gluten Free muffins which were a pleasant surprise since my wife is allergic to gluten. Hotel needs to have a process in place for when their link to Expedia is down or they need more training. The front desk staff that night did not have a good attitude for dealing with the hotel guest.

Pricey but definitely above average.

Nice place to stop on I5. But none of these hotels seem to be able to provide decent internet access.

Newer hotel

Pros: Very clean, large rooms, good parking, Starbucks nextdoor
Our daughter graduated from Chico State University. We could not get a closer hotel. It was a 40 minute drive and worked out great. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was for as it is right next to interstate 5. We did not hear any road noise.

Race weekend crash pad -

Posted May 8, 2017
Pros: availability
Cons: special rats for frequent guests !
Location: Go to the race track!
I frequently stay here when racing cars at the Thunder Hill race track. The hotel it is reliably clean - breakfasts are better than you might expect.

Nice, clean, comfortable room. A little expensive after taxes - $200 for one night.

Show up at 5pm, go to the restaurant, come back, sleep. Great. Fixtures are loose, shower is mediocre but for the money fine.

A bit expensive for the area but not much choice.
