Convenient location

Convenient location. Hotel needs updating, but was fine. If they offered better breakfast options, it would be better. Just needed a clean place to sleep, and this did the trick shower was REALLY nice!

Awful Smell!!

Pros: Nothing really. The front desk seemed nice in appearance. I wish the front desk associate was a little more helpful/engaging/happy/useful
Cons: Other than the overwhelming smell of decomposition and sewage, the guy up front offered very little help & gave no reassurance of his competency
Location: Downtown Newark is always great to walk through and Christiana Mall is a great place to take advantage of tax free shopping!
That was one of the worst rooms I (and my family) have seen in my life. The pictures look pretty good, so I decided to book the room for a few nights while myself and my parents were driving up. After we checked in and went to the back door to come in, we walked by a room that had all of the cracks on the door taped shut and a towel rolled up and shoved under the outside of the door (like to keep a bad smell in). We just kept walking and saw that our room was next door to it. We went in and dropped our stuff and looked around the room. The whole room smelled overwhelmingly like a mix of sewage and (honestly) roadkill with the worst of it coming from the bathroom. The shower is nothing like the pic online. It is an awkward glass door that swings into the round shower leaving you with an awkward wiggle to slide in to the shower. The shower head was also around 5.5ft off the ground. We walked out immediately. The guy working the front desk was not much of a help. He told us that he could not reverse our booking. We did not want to pay a dime for our 5 minutes in the room and the room was so gross in general, that we did not trust receiving another room. He had no initiative to help us and just kept saying that we would have to call tomorrow to talk a manager to see if she could help us saying that he could not do anything. He gave the impression that he did not want to help us at all. A couple hours later he called back and said he got the charges completely reversed.

great price for area

Pros: Staff was very friendly and always said HI. Much cleaner than last time i stayed.
Cons: I did not get any housekeeping on my stay. I stayed 2 nights. I did not have.. do not disturb card on door. Called desk, went down to get fresh towels
Location: Very close to University of DE campus, Tax free shopping, Christiana Mall and I95
At the front desk David did a great job, very friendly and knowledgeable. Stayed here 2 years ago and thought I would give it another try. Much better experience this time. Jose the manger even came out and introduced himself and asked how was everything. Staff was great.

Fine but better near by.

Pros: The location.
Cons: Better night staff. Respect handicapped requests even on line.
I asked for a handicap room & was denied even though my reservation specified as such. They gave me a room on the third floor, a far walk from the elevator. Not really for the differently abled. The sheets were hard, not soft, for this level of hotel. No bathtub, only a shower. Really bad. I'm not staying here again. Breakfast was fine.

Pros: Cleanliness, great condition and helpfulness of staff
Location: Location is ok, near i95 and great tax free Shopping near by
Clean, fantastic service and I would stay here again

Undesirable hotel

Terrible hotel. Stayed one night in the king suite. Hotel is very close proximity to University of Delaware where we were going to visit. Because it was a suite there was a refrigerator and microwave a small table and a sofa bed with a separate king bedroom, however the refrigerator was not working, the table was broken and if you leaned on it the table would've fallen over. The free breakfast was not much of a breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel due to the fact it needs many upgrades. There are many chain hotels located in the same area that would be much more desirable.

The only issue I had is that the pillows were bad. I feel like they should upgrade for better pillow.

Kind of disappointing but you get what you pay for

The hotel staff was not helpful. The front desk guy didn't seem to want to give us the extra blanket and pillow we asked for. He made us come down to the front desk in our pajamas and then follow them to the laundry for it after he told us we had enough blankets/pillows and acted annoyed at our request. The pillow was the oldest/lumpiest thing I've ever felt so we didn't end up using it in the end. When I first walked in I noticed that the bed skirts were a wrinkled mess and too big for the bed so you kind of tripped on them. The shower seal was broken so it leaked. The room smelled musty as we walked in.

Very good value for the money

Everything was as expected however I was disappointed there was no hair dryer. It's been years since I stayed in a hotel that did. It have dryers in every room.
