The rooms at the hotel are being renovated. We have an old shabby room on the first floor and we’re not given one of the refurbished rooms. My daughter and cousins who booked directed with Marriott are in new rooms. It’s a disadvantage to book through Expedia.

My experience at this hotel was the worst experience I’ve ever had staying at a hotel to say the least. do I stay at the Courtyard Marriott and Brandywine Wilmington I had the worst encounter with the front desk employee Marsha. Marsha came up very very rude from the time that I came into the facility until the night that she left from her shift. on arrival for my stay during check-in I spoke with Marsha and explained to her that I was looking to have a room with the balcony which I already spoke with someone prior to arriving who told me that there was plenty balcony rooms available Marsha told me there was none. Further into my stay we noticed that there were a lot of kids in the hot tub so we weren’t able to enjoy it instead we decided to sit outside and relax on deck to get a little cool air and relax. At the time I wasn’t aware that the pool closed at 8 PM I was just waiting for the kids to leave so that I can use the pool. Once 8 PM came I noticed Marsha coming in to the pool area with an older white gentleman who I later got to know as Frank. at the time we didn’t go back inside we can we stayed outside until we were ready to go back to join Frank in the hot tub because now we were thinking the Jacuzzi stays open after 8 PM because Frank is indulging in a late night swim. We came inside Frank invited me and my friend to join him inside the Jacuzzi. before I can even step foot and Jacuzzi the door swings open and Marsha comes in yelling saying that we have to leave.

The stay was good in a quiet safe area. The issues I experienced were that there were black skid-like marks on the sheets of one bed, and on check out I was waiting for a receipt, but the staff member was on a call and unable to produce a receipt at the time. After waiting a while, I finally asked for it to be sent via email and I have yet to receive a receipt, but I have received several surveys.

While the hotel is renovating rooms and floors one at a time, they are still putting guests in old rooms at the same rate ($$ per night). Our room was one of the old ones, and so dirty. Missing its full length mirror (only the rod and nails in the wall remained), cracking paint and stains on the walls, stains on the carpet, flickering dingy lighting. Just dirty. My mother and father in law stayed in a renovated room and had a good experience. I am glad they got one of the new rooms. I was terribly disappointed with my experience in the old, dingy, unkept room, at the same $$ rate as the renovated room, and would never stay at this hotel again if I didn't know one day the room I stayed in would be renovated (and hopefully actually cleaned properly.)

The stay was great.My grandkids had a great time in the hot tub and the pool ,Lots of Restaurants in walking distance.!Mall across the street. if you don’t want to go out theyserve food there . the chip Ken sandwich was great The customer service was the best.You were greeted with a smile as the door I Irecommend this hotel.

Let me begin by saying that I expect SO much more out of the Marriott brand. Given it was a Marriott property, I opted to spend a bit more on the nightly rate compared to nearby properties from other chains. I expected a newer, fresher, property that offered more upscale surroundings. Instead, I found what looked like a property that was taken over by Marriott and a bandaid was put on the old furniture, the marked up walls, the rundown fixtures, ... We were missing lightbulbs in the room or they were burned out. The walls had mars all over them and the furniture was old and did not match. The sheets did not even fit the bed properly and several of the towels were stained. The bathroom fixtures were old and the exposed pipes were rusty. We did not even have more than 2 minutes of hot water at a time. The staff was overall fairly friendly but certainly not professional. They were slow and always on their phones until you were directly in front of them. I expect Marriott to be more upscale and modern. It really looks like this was once another brand of hotel and Marriott took it over, gave it a quick exterior paint job and is trying to pass it off as a "Marriott Courtyard" at Marriott prices. Pretty safe to say that we will not be staying here on our next visit to Wilmington.

I didn’t Like how dirty the hotel was, that it was under construction. The room was small, yet had a lot of furniture for its small size It was cleaning the surface, but once you zoom in closer, I saw mold growing inside the sink

Convenient Location and Clean
We were satisfied with our stay. It was in a convenient location with many restaurants in walking distance. The amenities were adequate (on microwave), plumbing worked very well, unlike many similar hotels. Door to swimming pool would not open with key, always had to find an employee to open, most of the hot top jets did not work, but otherwise everything was great and I recommend this hotel. Very clean.

Curry scented room
The hotel smelled like strong disinfectant, well that is until we entered our room which reeked of cumin spice and curry! And that curry smell never went away. The hotel was empty, we were only there to ride the local bike trails. I asked the concierge about a later check out, he replied that I wasn’t “high enough status.” I asked him what that meant, he said that I was low status and that he could let us check out at 12:00. The normal check out time! He finally let us stay until 1:00 but when we got back at 12:20, we found our keys deactivated. So back to the front desk. The other staff member was rude to us as well. I won’t be staying at another Marriott hotel again. There are two other hotels adjacent to this one, I’d suggest them instead.

Room needs updating. Pull out sofa bed mattress should be changed. Stained and old . Had to be given linen in a bag in the lobby. Bathroom terrible . All needs fixing . Lobby was renovated. Should have done the rooms instead . Disappointing for a Marriott $300! Room rate !

We had a lovely stay over the weekend. The staff was wonderful however, the only reason we chose this hotel over the others was to be able to use the indoor pool. The pool has been shut down until parts can be found - I think that should have been made clear prior to booking. I also did not like walking past a conference room that was left open to get to my room. I had to use the main hall to go to my room because the side entrance only allowed people to go out of the building. Finally, the room next door had a smoker who would prop open the door while he smoked outside and then bring the smell down the hall with him.

The room was okay. Attempts at updating were obvious with newer lighting, a granite sink surround and draperies, but the 1990's color scheme of the walls--Tuscan-esque red and yellow--still were very much evident. Bathroom fixtures and finishes looked original, complete with a slow-flushing toilet that required the handle to be depressed during the whole flushing process. Also, for the price of these rooms, I would have expected a complimentary showercap at least in the room. We found the beds comfortable. Two aggravating things: the TV would not turn off! It was on when we entered, but when we wanted to sleep, neither the on/off button on the remote or the TV itself worked, forcing us to unplug the thing. Second, they say checkout is noon, but by 11:45 they had deactivated our room keys, and we could not re-enter to collect the rest of our luggage. Had to go down to the desk and get new cards!
